Fantasy Football Championship Game advice

Hey guys,

I know that some of you hate the fantasy football threads so my apologies. I'm seeking out advice of pretty much everyone I can think of at this point. Here is how I look for my final game (difference between first and second place is about $100):

QB- Roethlisberger vs. Rams
WR- Moss vs. Dolphins
Wayne vs. Texans
third WR (see below)
RB- LenDale White vs. Jets
second RB (see below)
TE- Miller vs. Rams
K- Gostkowski vs. Dolphins
Def- Cardinals vs. Falcons

So, I have two spots still to fill. Here are my debates:

WR: Andre Johnson OR Anthony Gonzalez- They play against each other and I'm trying to figure out, do I play the Texans' #1 receiver or play Gonzalez with Wayne and hope the Colts O smokes the Texans' D? Scoring here is 1 point per catch, 1 point per 20 receiving yards, 6 per TD.

RB: Edgerrin James, Aaron Stecker, or Chester Taylor- James vs. Atlanta's D is attractive but the Cards' offense has been consistently inconsistent with the run. Stecker has been great the last two weeks but Philly's D is good. Taylor seems to have taken a backseat completely at this point. Scoring here is 1 point per 10 rushing yards, 1 point per catch, 1 point per 20 receiving yards, 6 per TD.

I think you are overthinking

Johnson/James

Any time you use the word 'hope', you shouldn't go with that guy. Even if the Indy O smokes Houston's D, Houston will still need to put the ball in the air.

As for James, Atlanta looks like they folded the beer tent and went home. Might as well put 11 tackling dummies out there.

I agree with Mustang. Johnson's been playing well and he's the Texans's #1 WR. He'll get his touches, and the Colts D isn't invincible, so he may even burn some long ones. No need to get cute with your other options.

Similar with James. Someone's got to grind out those yards, and Atlanta are, right now, the most "we've given up" team in the NFL (taking the title away from Miami last week).

Guys, thank you very much for the advice. I feel similar, that I've been overthinking as well. Thanks a ton.

Go with Andre Johnson and Edgerrin James. Don't go with guys that are not proven in a championship game, you are putting too much faith in guys that may not even see the ball much. Indy will probably try to run the ball more because of their need to get Addai some more work and give Manning some time off before the playoffs. Andre Johnson is a no-brainer, Houston will throw a lot to keep pace with Indy. Edgerrin James is on a team that will probably throw more than run, but your other choices are not good. I would NEVER start Aaron Stecker in a game, and Chester Taylor will see limited time because of Peterson. Just my advice, take it or leave it.

I voted for Johnson/James...the Texans could have to air it out and he's the top target for garbage time TDs...if it comes to that. Touch choice between Edge and Stecker because Stecker has played great lately but the Falcons are just too bad to pass up.

To piggy back...I have to start one of the following:

Selvin Young vs SD
Javon Walker vs SD
DeAngelo Williams vs DAL
Patrick Crayton vs CAR
Santonio Holmes vs SL

This is my fourth championship game and I have yet to win one. What's funny is this is easily the worst team of the four so I just get the stupid feeling I'm going to win. I feel like I should start Young but in the back of my mind, Crayton and Holmes are talking to me.

Holmes is back and looking good, I would likely start him as he is playing against the weakest defense by far and Pittsburgh needs the game so I think they'll sling it around some. Hope this helps.

I picked Tom Brady over Kurt Warner in the finals today. I figured Brady has done me well so far this year and whether they get ahead quickly or the game is close, both situations are favorably. The weather isn't terrible in NE today and ATL has a decent pass defense vs. Warner. And Warner isn't exactly durable. I hope I don't regret it, but I figure a so-so day from Brady is the same as a good day from Warner.

I also started Kenny Watson over Chester Taylor and Selvin Young. Blah.

Wooooot!! Won $350 today thanks to picking up Kenny Watson this weekend. Even the Titans defense did me proud.
