I'll be working and on my computer. What is undernet?

If you have Firefox, you can get the Chatzilla extension, which is an IRC client (it's what I use). There is also webchat through the undernet site, but I'll be the first to say I don't know how it works, I use Chatzilla.

Ok, I actually use Firefox on my notebook on occassion, so I'll check it out when I get to work.

After you've installed it and restarted Firefox, go to your Firefox "Tools" menu and select the "Chatzilla" option. The window should open up in a couple of seconds. Type the following commands in the window, and you should be set.

/server irc.undernet.org
/nick [nickname] (I guess you'd want "Dodgerchick")
/join #fofc

This is my first time using Chatzilla, so there's probably a faster way to do it, but that's a way that should work.

Get on a server. In the main window, type /server [servername]
Since you're in Austin, I'd suggest one of the 2 in Arizona, so maybe
/server mesa.az.us.undernet.org
or /server mesa2.az.us.undernet.org

Then once you connect to the server, type in /join #fofc

And there will be a few of us there. ;)

No luck. I've probably got some sort of setting somewhere that's preventing this from working.

Did you try Pumpy's method? That worked for me.

weird, i'm unable to connect from my computer.. it worked on ant's :confused:

I get this error "

*** Your ident is disabled or broken, to continue to connect you must type /QUOTE PASS 17355"

When you connect to irc.undernet.org you basically connect to a random server, and some require that you authenticate yourself by doing various things. Much easier just to try a specific server, see the link I posted earlier with the servers...

Yeah I did and got this error:

In the response to st. cronin I linked to a page listing a bunch of other servers, if you want to re-join us, try tone of those ;)
