Downloading Youtube Vids

Is that possible? No? Yay?

I want to put some videos on my iPod and I was thinking some of my fave YT clips I could add... if only I knew how.

I have used this in the past with great success.

If you use Firefox, the is several addons that will do it.
I use Fast Video Download and it works fine.

I use Orbit downloader from http://www.orbitdownloader.com/

A general download manager and media grabber.

Free and it will grab all types of media from web sites, including Youtube video.

Tried vixy.net and it seems to be faulty.

Also added the FVD extension but don't know where to use it, for instance if I right click on a video I don't see any options to save, etc

Can I ask a general question about downloading? It seems I still hear that term a lot, in relation to porn and videos. I understand downloading to take it with you but I believe that is more of a recent thing. Why would anyone on a computer download anything if they are on a computer and will continue to have access to one?

Videos on YouTube are oftan taken down by YouTube.com for copyright claims or content. Sometimes users take down videos they had up or delete their accounts (deleting their videos along with them). So if you want to rewatch videos, you'll probably want to download them in case they are taken down at some point.

Sometimes people have their laptops but don't have an internet connection.

Sometimes it occurs when there's no one else around.

Easy access, baby.

I download Podcasts so I can listen to them while at work on my ipod instead of sitting in front of my computer doing nothing but idly sitting and listening to basically a radio

Also I figure I might as well get some popular youtube vids for those "what, how have you not seen that video yet!" moments
