If I allow my Head Coach...

If I allow my head coach to call the plays while watching the play by play screen, is he following my gameplan that I set up or will he follow his own gameplan base upon his rating for play calling?

The reason why I'm asking is because I set the gameplan and let the coach call the plays, but it seem like he wasn't following my gameplan.

also, i sometimes get tired of calling plays but like to follow the play by play to see how my players are playing. So i like to hire a coach with a high gameplan rating, but I'm not sure if I need to set the gameplan if he going to override it if he's calling the plays.

Your gameplan will definitely be used, no matter who your head coach is. :)

Yeah, the way I would "think" it works is that that the coach will call plays based on percentages you put in on the gameplan/depth chart screens.

However, the coach's offensive and defensive gameplanning ratings probably have an impact on the actual play selected (i.e. run right or run left) and probably have an impact on the success/failure of that play.

What that tangible value of this is is uncertain.

Thanks for the help.

I'm setting my injury to 100 but I want it to be close to real life NFL injuries. What are you setting it at? I only asked because most of you guys have played this game for years.

I've always played with 200...but I would think, now, the most realistic setting would be 250. JMO

200 is still the NFL equivalency

I think I might agree with you, but I thought Jim allowed us to go higher because of all the injuries we saw in the NFL this year? I could be wrong though..:)

I usually go with 175, b/c I'm too much of a chicken to play at 200. :)

At the very least, you're partially correct. He didn't explicitly say that, but he did say this:

I've been using 250 in a career that has gone for 20+ seasons, and it's still probably a bit low compared to this NFL season. I'm usually getting between 14-18 QBs a year and 14-20 RBs a year with 16 starts. It's hard to find that number for the NFL, but it looks like 12 QBs and 10 RBs fit that bill in the NFL this year.

I set my injuries at 300 and got slaughtered injury-wise. The turf condition wasn't good but the taxpayers came through for me there. Random checks of other teams didn't show the same level of casualties, so maybe I had a bad couple of years.

I always thought 200 was too low, but I might try 250 - 275.
