Anyone play DOTA?

Defense of the Ancients, anyone? A coworker of mine recently turned me on to this Warcraft 3 mod, and I'm really enjoying it. One thing that I have noticed: battle.net sure is a grumpy place!

Stay away. Stay very away. It's a plague over here in the Philippines. A plague, I tell you!

I used to play a lot of it but have since stopped and started playing Team Fortress 2.

DOTA is kinda like an MMORPG that ends in an about an hour.

Reminds me of the Basshunter song.

I didn't get nearly as into WC3 as I did into Starcraft. But I loved all the mods made for it. The tower battles struck me as awfully fun as were some oddball stuff like Murder at the Mansion and Cat something.

I've been playing DOTA almost nonstop for well over a year.

Needless to say it is awesome.

I keep hearing about this, but never tried it out. I might have to reinstall WC3 sometime and give it a whirl.

Take some time to read up on on strategy about items and heroes when you start. If you start playing you'd be best off playing in APEM (All Pick, Easy Mode) games so you can learn on one or two heroes before branching out to All Random games (what I play almost exclusively, sometimes playing the new draft modes).
