Wow. I hope this guy sues the fuck out of the Sheriff's office, and that the bitch who did this get's fired and spends some time in jail. Probably won't happen though. (Make sure to watch the accompanying video) |
Holy crap. I just noticed the cop at the very ending of the video walking by and laughing. Despicable.
|
Jeez.
|
I've seen a lot of spinals, Dude, and this guy is a fake. A fucking goldbricker.

I thought quadruplegics(sp?) couldn't move their arms.....
|
Just pulled it from Wiki. If it's on the net, it must be true!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadruplegic "...An individual with a C7 injury will likely be paralyzed and lose function from the chest down but still retain use of the arms and much of their hands...." |
I know this guy (the quadriplegic). His name is Wheelchair Brian. So dubbed to differentiate him from another in my friend/aquaintance group dubbed Brother Brian. We also call him Reflexogenic, due to a side effect of his condition, which he has been known to use to great advantage.
Good guy. Not exactly squeaky-clean, so it doesn't amaze me to see him in a jail video, but still, a good, wouldn't-hurt-a-fly kinda guy. btw, the "accident" that broke his neck was ridiculous. Happened before I knew him, but he was basicly just horsing around with a buddy of his at a party, wrestling or whatever, noone meaning anything by it, and one or the other knid of twisted and rolled wrong, and *snap* paralysis. Tragic. Seriously, who among us (idiot guys, mostly) hasn't horsed around like that a dozen times, with no ill effects. Anyways, weird to see him on TV. |
I don't think I could possibly be more furious at the ignorance of a person I've never met. That was disgusting to see.
|
In fairness, I hear this worked wonders for Kevin Everett.
|
I think maple leafs timed that exactly right. well done.

TAMPA, FL (AP) -- Another inmate who uses a wheelchair is complaining of abuse by Hillsborough County jail detention deputies. Benjamin Rayburn is a paraplegic serving ten years in state prison on a variety of charges, including a charge of aggravated battery stemming from the videotaped incident. His attorneys say Rayburn was dumped from his wheelchair and left on the floor of a holding cell for at least an hour. The sheriff's office says the deputies acted appropriately and were trying to subdue Rayburn after he tried to stab an officer with a glass crack pipe. Earlier this month, a quadriplegic inmate was dumped from his wheelchair at the jail. That incident was also caught on video. Sheriff David Gee called the actions of Deputy Charlette Marshall-Jones' inexcusable. She resigned. |
