Buying an email capable cell phone

I'm currently considering an Blackberry 8800 for my business needs so I can send and receive email when I'm away from my computer. Besides the standard monthly fee from my service provider, what other fees related to email sending and receiveing on a Blackberry can I expect? I can't find anything that talks about them (suprise suprise) but I'm sure these services are not free.

Also, I'm open to getting a different phone if one is out there that can do email like the Blackberry does. My provider is AT&T.

I have a Blackberry Pearl with AT&T and pay $30 a month for an unlimited Blackberry Data plan, and then we have a unlimited family messaging plan (texts/pics) on top of that. The Blackberry Data plans do not include texts/pic messages - only internet based stuff - emails and web browsing...

If you're planning on sticking with AT&T you could take a look at an iPhone. They do the internet very well. Still pricey though.
