PS3 issue

Hey guys. I have a 60 GB PS3. It sometimes seems to get "stuck" and becomes unresponsive either to the controller or to the buttons on the console. It usually seems to happen with a PS2 disc in the drive. The only solution seems to be unplugging the power and then trying again after a few seconds. Is this a common issue? At first I thought it was from the controller's battery dying, but it's happened with a fully-charged controller, so that's not it.

Is it only certain PS2 games? Check to see PS3 compatibility on those games if so. I've never run into yes tho I've only had mine for 3 months...

But it's the 60 GB version that has the PS2 chip...

Hmm, I have the 80 so I'm not sure then. I guess I would still double check since it shouldn't take more than a min or two to see if the game has issues. Other than that I don't know.

Sony controllers or 3rd party? While online, offline, both?

Sony controller. Definitely happens offline. Don't think online has been a problem, but not sure. Probably not, since I've never tried to play a PS2 game online.

And it's with a disc (Madden 2006) that definitely works most of the time. I'm not sure if I've had the issue with other PS2 games, although I think I did with GTA Vice City.

If you can narrow it down to a disc it may be scratched or even just fingerprinted up. Whenever I've had movies skip it was always that (even tho they were new and I thought I had handled them well)
