Scores updated through the final four

Logan 03-18-2008 03:50 PM

If USC wins a couple games, I think ram will go on to his second straight Top Gun Part Duex victory.

ntndeacon 03-18-2008 05:33 PM

only if UCLA doesn't go out early. He has a lot invested with them. (Though that isnt a bad strategy)

Lathum 03-20-2008 01:39 PM

13 points from Lavander bust most importantly Xavier moves on

Lathum 03-20-2008 01:41 PM

ugly game for Neitzel

Radii 03-20-2008 01:57 PM

great game from Duncan though, and both my first two players advance, whew. UGA/Xavier was too damn close. Dionte Christmas was taken in both drafts, good for 2 points and done, doh.

View Only for me. Looks good.

Radii 03-20-2008 02:46 PM

2nd post is set up now for scoring, w/ a link to the spreadsheet. Scores should be updated daily :)

Similar strategy I used last year when I had two Gators. The key is finding contributors who are going to make it to the final four. The extra game or two is key.

I felt I could gamble on Mayo and hope they make a run. Which I think USC has a good shot at. I might have taken him a bit early but there was no way he would have lasted until my third round pick. The worst case scenario I see for Mayo is a one and done with 15-20 points, which would be close to what Dowdell gave me last year as my second round pick.

Logan 03-20-2008 06:40 PM

20 points in a round 1 win for my last pick...not bad.

Radii 03-20-2008 07:10 PM

i'm pretty disappointed with lopez and neitzel, but both advanced, and i got a solid 20 out of Duncan for Xavier. Double digits from Beasley and a Kansas State win would be really big for me if they can play well in the 2nd half here.

Radii 03-20-2008 08:38 PM

and everyone with duke players breathe a huge sigh of relief... unfortunately :(

ntndeacon 03-20-2008 08:44 PM

I cant get to the spread sheet it just asks me to sign in for google docs

Radii 03-20-2008 09:00 PM

ntn try: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...0_LVOx1Bl8gHUg

that first URL is a "shared" URL but might require a gmail/google account to view. this URL is a "published" URL that is supposed to be globally viewable I think.

Radii 03-20-2008 09:02 PM

its updated through all completed games at this point. I'm very happy with my day 1. 2 scorers coming up a bit short is more than made up for by Beasley making it through to round 2.

ntndaecon has a very good score and even though Kentucky lost getting 35 points out of your sub 10-seed is pretty damn good.

timmynausea 03-20-2008 11:03 PM

Foul trouble and double teams lead to only 14 tonight for Joe Alexander, but getting the win is nice obviously. Hopefully he goes off against Duke. My other 5 guys all play tomorrow.

Beasley might've been the steal of the draft for Radii. I'll definitely be interested to see how he does against Wisconsin. KSU has a ton of talent, though I think all 5 starters are underclassmen.

Radii 03-21-2008 02:16 AM

scores are updated through the end of today.

well after today dacman might have the steal of the draft with Stephen Curry, damn!

Logan 03-21-2008 01:40 PM

Not what I was hoping for out of Chris Lofton.

dacman 03-21-2008 01:48 PM

Stephen Curry!!! 40pts and a 2nd game. Sweet.

timmynausea 03-21-2008 02:52 PM

Yeah, I really wanted Curry.

Radii 03-21-2008 06:20 PM

scoring updated through the end of the early games today. dacman has over 90 points with two tar heels going now and hasn't lost any. Safe to say he's going to have a BIG edge over the rest of us after round 1.

Radii 03-22-2008 12:06 AM

scoring updated through the end of round 1.

I was pretty happy with 88 points and not losing anyone, and i still am, but damn, look at some of these scores!

timmynausea 03-22-2008 10:32 AM

I'm really hurting. My 10+ seed guy going down wasn't really unexpected, though I am kicking myself for not going for a guy from Siena instead as I strongly considered it. The UConn loss really hurt me, though, and A.J. Price got hurt in the game so he didn't even score. 0 points out of my 2nd round pick. (I can't say that I shed any tears for the Huskies, though.)

The 3-peat looks just about dead. It'd almost take a miracle.

Whew.

ntndeacon 03-22-2008 12:41 PM

I am hurting with only 3 left. Come on Pitt Go all the WAY!!!

Step 1 of the miracle process: SUCCESS.

Lathum 03-22-2008 03:50 PM

it makes me ill that I almost took ALexander

Radii 03-22-2008 05:31 PM

I'll definitely take 46 points from Beasley. Maybe I can get lucky and not lose anyone else for another round.

Logan 03-22-2008 08:07 PM

I took McNeal because I thought Marquette could knock off Stanford, and they came pretty damn close. I'll take the 50 points from my 6th round pick though.

Radii 03-23-2008 12:02 AM

wow, I had a GREAT day today, 4 players through to the sweet 16, and everyone really did well, Harangody maybe a minor disappointment but I can't complain at all about my situation.

the totals are deceptive at the moment though. timmynausea has 3 playres going tomorrow who are all heavily favored to advance and will likely make up some ground. dacman still hasn't lost anyone and has 5 guys going tomorrow. Logan has a solid score and still has 3 more guys playing tomorrow.

Radii 03-23-2008 12:03 AM

Scores in the 2nd post and spreadsheet(http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...0_LVOx1Bl8gHUg) are updated.

Radii 03-23-2008 04:10 PM

so dacman pretty much wins, huh?

Radii 03-23-2008 05:35 PM

Yeah, my team has done about as good as I could have asked for here, but dacman is going to advance all 6 of his players to the sweet 16 and has gotten very solid numbers from 5 of them(danny green WTF).

Radii 03-24-2008 02:01 AM

scores are updated through the end of round 2, as is the spreadsheet.

My hopes appear to rest with Stanford beating texas and Michigan State beating Memphis.

Radii 03-27-2008 11:40 PM

Spreadsheet is updated through tonight's games.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...0_LVOx1Bl8gHUg

Radii 03-27-2008 11:45 PM

2nd post updated as well. With Tennessee losing and Xavier winning I still have a chance. Stanford beating Texas is pretty much required for me to win I think. A michigan state miracle would help too but probably isn't required.

jbergey22 03-28-2008 01:26 AM

Its starting to look like a 3 man race in which my only advantage in UCLA making the championship game.

A Texas loss tomorrow night and a UNC loss in the next round would be huge for you Radi.

Logan 03-28-2008 05:32 AM

Nice that I can join Tennessee fans in agreeing that Chris Lofton is a huge disappointment.

haha, yeah, that's ok. There are ways for me to win that don't involve UNC losing ever I think. And if I have to finish 2nd or 3rd but UNC gets a final four, well that's ok :)

Radii 03-28-2008 08:44 PM

over 100 points from curry with another game to come... amazing.

Lathum 03-28-2008 08:46 PM

i think we're done here

Radii 03-29-2008 03:45 AM

updatedthrough the end of hte sweet 16. grats dacman.

Radii 04-01-2008 02:22 AM

scores are updated through the final four. It doesn't seem likely that anyone is going to threaten dacman.

dacman 03-06-2009 07:47 AM

The signup for the 2009 contest got me curious how this one finished up:

SCORE
dacman414
Radii334
jbergey22332
Logan315
ram278
Lathum255
timmynausea237
ntndeacon191

So no one threated me, but the race for 2nd was awful tight.
