Proof that crime doesn't pay...........

Three robbery suspects were being pursued by police in a high speed chase when they had the unfortunate luck of being struck by a drunk driver. All of the robbery suspects and the drunk driver were arrested. It should be noted that the journalism is not of the highest quality.............

Columbia police have two people in custody and are waiting to arrest a third robbery suspet, who led police on a chase Saturday night. Officers arrested a fourth person on DWI charges after he crashed into the robbery suspects getaway car.

It all started at Locust and Waugh in downtown Columbia when a couple says they were robbed at gunpoint. The suspects were described as three black males and one black female, all wearing bandanas.

Soon, officers found three suspects who fit that description nearby in a car and police tried to pull it over. At first, it stopped for officers then fled. The car led police on a high-speed chase through downtown, before being hit by another car at the Broadway and Eighth Street intersection.

Turns out, police say the driver of that car, 28-year-old Kevin Kiesling was drunk.

"Bad deal for him. Don't be driving drunk. It doesn't seem like he was doing anything wrong as far as the law is concerned, other than the DWI charge," says Sgt. Daniel Beckman from the Columbia Police Dept.

Police also arrested 17-year-old Mia Burnes and 17-year-old Alexander Ross. 17-year-old Reuben Smith is the third robbery suspect, he remains in critical condition at the hospital. Police are waiting to arrest him when he gets out. None of the people in the car that hit the robbery suspects needed treatment.

Police are looking for a fourth suspect. He is only described as a black male wearing a bandana. The other suspects were not being cooperative with police during questioning.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

We just need to get more drunk people to drive, then no criminal will be safe on the roads!
