BBCF-Penn State keeps taking my targets in Virginia.
I play as Virginia Tech and I have had several good seasons and have a prestige 10 points higher than Penn State but every year Penn State takes the top recruit in Virginia and 3 to 5 other top player. I use play to win as the pitch.
Top 10 Prospects In Virginia 2009-5 to Penn State, 3 to Virginia Tech, 2 other schools 2010-4 to Penn State, 2 to Virginia Tech, 4 other schools 2011-6 to Penn State, 3 to Virginia Tech, 1 other school 2012-4 to Penn State, 3 to Virginia Tech, 3 other schools |

Have you tried recruiting in PA?

Use your scouting report to narrow down the pitches for your recruits. If you just use that one all of the time, you're not going to have much success. |
BBCF uses regions as a more powerful indicator then they do states. You have just as much of a shot at recruiting someone from Virgina as you do in Maine.
|
send 2 pitches to each recruit. if that don't work, send 4 pitches. if they not coming, send 8 pitches. if they still go to penn state, maybe bbcf not the game for you.

I vaguely remember a pdf file that discussed very similar issues.

Penn State >>>> Va Tech
enough said :) |
I had a recruiting class ranked 105th after finishing 11-1 with VA Tech, I only targeted Virginia and lost on all of the top recruits. I was trying to get the 11 5-star recruits in Virginia that year with my 11 scholarships. Went for broke and got none of them.
|
Keep us posted.
|
I just finished playing a game with USC and went 10-2 and California had something like 25 of the 100 players in the country. My scholarships did not cover 8 of the players. I got only 2 of the players but the recruiting class ended up 18th in the country due to the fact that I had several fall back targets in California. Went for the ultimate recruiting class and got a bad one for USC's standards.

Usually there are 1 or 2 per year and one simulation I did Virginia had only 1 4 star player and only 3 3 star players. I try to stay in state because it is cheaper to recruit. Why pay 2000 more for a 4 star RB out of state when you can save money by staying in state unless I need a specific position (usually K and P which are rare) |
I've never played as Virginia Tech before, but my guess is that they have enough money to go after both in-state and out-of-state guys. Are you spending all your money every week?
|
Yes I do spend it every week on recruiting and calling players. I make pitches to almost every player in Virginia and have them to fallback as the top players make decisions. Then if any players at positions I need I go out of state to make pitches and scholarships to them. First, Virginia then out of state.
|
Calling players? Are you sure you're playing BBCF?
|
DeToxRox coaches the Hokies in the FOFC-BBCF league and he usually has a pretty impressive recruiting class.

Yeah, he is pretty much the second best team in the Atlantic East region there.. |
I looked at that recruting class at BBCF-FOFC and said if I were Penn State I would start a thread Virginia Tech keeps taking my targets in Pennsylvania. I may play another game with Virginia Tech and target Pennsylvania and New Jersey and call the team Pennsylvania Jersey Tech.
