Osgood wearing a blue note?

I felt weird watching Osgood with a blue note on his jersey tonight. He was stellar in goal tonight and I hope coming to the Blues lights a fire under him... maybe he'll regain that Stanley Cup form?

Anyway, I'm glad he's here instead of Burke. I know one game does not a goalie make, but I like his experience over Burke's.

If Pronger comes back at FULL strength, and plays the way he's capable of doing, we have one of our best chances in quite some time.

3 Keys to a Stanley Cup appearance:

1. Osgood regains his 'Stanley Cup' form.

2. Pronger comes back and has grit.

3. Our checking line keeps Detroit/Dallas/Colorado(s) muckers and grinders at bay.

Sorry but Detroit is going to eat Osgood up.

Oilers beat the Stars last night in a first round preview...

Go Oilers!!!!

Also Thachuk (sp?) will be missing 3-4 weeks.

I also like Osgoode. I think he is underrated. Not just any goalie is good enough to win a cup, even with a strong defense in front of them.

Adding Pronger should be a huge boost. St. Louis isn't a team I'd want to play in the first round.

Actually, being a Flames fan, we'll take on all comers in the first round...

I think the trade was a good deal for both teams.

Islanders fans were at first very upset, but seemed to realize it wasn't an awful trade. We weren't going to sign Ozzy after the season, so we basically are giving up 10 games plus the playoffs of him. And the way Snow and DiPietro had played, he might not have gotten time anyways!

And what we got in return isn't all that bad. Papineau is a pretty established prospect - it'd be a big surprise if he became less than a solid 3rd line centerman. And the big, with this year's draft (said to be the deepest in 25 years), is as good now as it ever will be.

Overall, I like the trade. Removes any goalie controversy, and gets us something to look forward to in return.

Papineau is definitly a good prospect, I think he'll only get better.

Osgood is good for us, I just hope Tkachuck is back for the first round of the playoffs.

Too bad May might not get to play us at home on Tuesday. Seems as if Sundin took him out already.
