What better for you? (Coke)

Diet Coke or Coke Zero?

MizzouRah 05-20-2008 12:02 PM

Cherry Coke

Cringer 05-20-2008 12:02 PM

crack

stevew 05-20-2008 12:03 PM

coke zero better.

diet coke is asswhite.

MikeVic 05-20-2008 12:03 PM

Water.

JeeberD 05-20-2008 12:05 PM

Coke Zero rocks

korme 05-20-2008 12:05 PM

Seriously, why is Diet Coke still in business? Coke Zero tastes better and has zero calories. Basically, anyone that drinks Diet Coke is because they are on a diet or trying to watch their weight, so why don't just switch to Coke Zero?

Icy 05-20-2008 12:07 PM

Zero, since i tasted it i can no longer stand the Diet flavor. I even prefer Zero to standard coke, that i find too sweet.

stevew 05-20-2008 12:08 PM

I was kind of dissapointed C2 didn't survive. I thought it tasted pretty good, and it had about half the calories of regular coke. That and Pepsi Edge.

Someday I wish Coke/Pepsi would actually make a sugar sweetened beverage again. Don't feel so bad about the calories if they aren't coming primarily from HFCS.

finketr 05-20-2008 12:08 PM

coke zero

Farrah Whitworth-Rahn 05-20-2008 12:21 PM

Coke zero tastes like ass. Diet Coke all the way baby!

rkmsuf 05-20-2008 12:22 PM

whoa, you've tasted ass

ISiddiqui 05-20-2008 12:39 PM

Coke Zero

Logan 05-20-2008 12:40 PM

I don't drink regular coke for two reasons: one is obviously the insane amount of sugar (which I guess means I prefer cancer over diabetes) and the other is because it just tastes too sweet for me.

Coke zero, therefore, also tastes too sweet for me. If Diet Coke was abandoned I'd make the switch to Diet Pepsi, or stock up on Diet Sunkist.

ISiddiqui 05-20-2008 12:41 PM

Diet Pepsi tastes far sweeter than Diet Coke... and IMO than Coke Zero.

Mizzou B-ball fan 05-20-2008 12:42 PM

Cherry Coke Zero.

Lathum 05-20-2008 12:47 PM

Holy Water.

If thats not available, than I drink Busch Light.

korme 05-20-2008 01:01 PM

I should have made this a poll

Fidatelo 05-20-2008 01:01 PM

Coke Zero is the bees knees.

Kodos 05-20-2008 01:10 PM

Coke zero is the only diet beverage that I can stomach.

Bad-example 05-20-2008 01:24 PM

Never tried Coke Zero.

Diet Coke is my soda of choice. My pop likes it too.

Yeah, I don't know anyone who doesn't think Pepsi (any flavor, diet or not) is sweeter than Coke.

14ers 05-20-2008 01:30 PM

Coke Zero all the way her.

If Pepsi is on sale that week, I'll go with a Diet Pepsi Max.

Diet Pepsi Max is a zero-calorie, sugar-free, carbohydrate-free, ginseng-infused cola, marketed by PepsiCo. It has nearly twice the caffeine of Pepsi's other cola beverages.

ColtCrazy 05-20-2008 01:45 PM

Aspartame gives me a horrible headache for some reason, but from the one I did taste...Coke Zero tasted better than Diet Coke.

Although, I will add....I'm a RC drinker most of the time. Just think it tastes better than Coke/Pepsi.

VPI97 05-20-2008 01:45 PM

I never thought I'd say this about anything but I prefer Coke Zero, not only over Diet Coke, but over Classic, as well.

Subby 05-20-2008 01:45 PM

They are both equally bad for you. Coke Zero tastes better, I guess.

stevew 05-20-2008 01:51 PM

Diet Pepsi Max is pretty good too.

GrantDawg 05-20-2008 02:30 PM

Coke Zero. I will do Diet Dr. Pepper on occasion, but there is nothing like Coke Zero to me. I'm psyched that you are begining to see it at more and more fountain stations.

Karlifornia 05-20-2008 02:43 PM

I've never heard of either of these, but then again I'm not on a diet, and my dealer doesn't talk very much.

Fidatelo 05-20-2008 02:47 PM

I think Coke Zero is actually going to stick, which is awesome.

Simms 05-20-2008 02:56 PM

I'm a long-time Diet Coke drinker, not for the caloric benefits, but because regular Coke was too sugary and left a gritty film on my teeth. I grew to hate the taste of Coke.

Between Diet Coke and Coke Zero, they're both about the same nutritionally, but in my experience, Coke Zero tastes exactly like regular Coke (which I think was sorta the point). So I hate it.

JediKooter 05-20-2008 03:02 PM

Beer

Greyroofoo 05-20-2008 06:16 PM

Vanilla Coke Zero and rum

Izulde 05-20-2008 06:29 PM

Mountain Dew Livewire or Mountain Dew Code Red.

By the way, I really, really miss Surge. That was the best soda ever. :(

fantom1979 05-20-2008 06:47 PM

I enjoy Coke Zero, but recently dropped Coke altogther for Water and G2.

TazFTW 05-20-2008 07:34 PM

Cherry Coke Zero. I didn't like Diet Coke because I thought it had this weird aftertaste. Diet Coke with Lime was an improvement but Coke Zero beats that.

korme 05-20-2008 08:20 PM

Cherry Coke Zero is real??? Im turned on

timmynausea 05-20-2008 08:45 PM

I've never gotten into any of the diet/zero drinks. I stand by regular old Coke. I just don't drink it more than once or maybe twice a week. I'd rather have water than diet stuff.

My drink of choice now, though, is an Arnold Palmer - half lemonade, half iced tea.

ShaneTheMaster 05-20-2008 09:51 PM

I am f'in addicted to coke zero. It'll probably turn out about 5 years from now that the sugar substitute in it causes your testicles to shrink.

Do the girls really buy that line?

Raiders Army 05-20-2008 10:19 PM

Coke Zero, but I don't mind Diet Coke in restaurants.

I like Vanilla Coke Zero the best, but I hardly find it anymore. :(

That would be the artificial sweetener (usually saccharin or sucralose). They put that stuff into just about anything that is "Diet" or "Sugar Free" and it absolutely sucks. It's the first thing I look for on the ingredients for drinks because I hate that aftertaste.

It's the additional use of acesulfame potassium (or "Ace-K") that has created the taste revolution in artificial sweeteners (at least in the eyes of many of us) lately. Coke Zero, for instance, is still using aspartame (not saccharin or sucralose) as the primary sweetener, but by combining it with ace-K, it substantially removes the aspartame aftertaste to many tasters, and approaches the taste of regular coke.

A fair number of other diet drinks are now using the combination, but I honestly haven't found any others that have made as obvious progress in taste as Coke Zero and the flavored versions of the same. I like Diet Barq's as well, but I never thought it had a particularly bad aftertaste even before they started adding ace- K in the last year or two.

They have released now at least in Spain, Fanta zero, lemon and orange flavors and they really nailed the original tastes with those, i can't notice any difference with the sugar ones.
