Move to Operation Sports

As you might have seen SkyDog has announced a merger of sorts with Operation Sports. He talks all about that in this thread. I have no inside information about this move. Personally it is bad for me as OS is blocked by my work's web filter. I might be able to get somebody to give me the password (advantage of being the tech teacher) but I might not. If not my viewing of the WW forums during school hours will be severely curtailed (obviously).

More importantly, overall it looks like this move will be good for us:

*We are now considered a "Main Forum" and thus towards the top of the forum listing
*We hopefully can recruit a larger player group from some of the OS boards

On a practical manner, there's the possibility that during a transition time that posts would be lost. If the decision is made to keep the board open during the transition, and we know when that transition time is, Clap and the players of the Kitten game would have to decide what they would like to do. I would be happy to lock the thread for that time so that the game is essentially paused.

In case you didn't see it, the tentative board move date is Thursday 12:45pm.

I am not sure if that is when the board would be moved, ie: the 4-8 hours before that it would be read-only mode, or if that is when the board would go to read-only.. Either way probably should keep that in mind when handling Wednesday -> Thursday play.

SkyDog confirms that the board will go read only status at 12:45pm on Thursday. So it would be right in the middle of your night deadline in case you want to change your deadlines on Wednesday/Thursday any.

well when it goes down well suspend and pick up when its done so probalby no thursday deadline?

Might as well keep the noon deadline. Maybe people can just email you their night actions?

Or move the deadlines up to 11:00 and then 12:00?

The only problem is if the board is read-only the whole morning or something. Otherwise that should work fine.

Just have a conditional in place that if the board doesnt work that morning we'll push the deadline back.

Anything more to know about for tomorrow?
