Werewolf Fantasy Football League ( real fantasy football, not a WW game)

Hey all, did this last year and it was fun, except for my wife winning.

The league is totaly free and will be run through Yahoo. We will be doing a live draft probably in late August, during the week and later in the day. You don't have to be online for the draft but that is half the fun so it is recomended.

This is a great chance to play if you have never played before. It is also a great chance for spouses to play against each other ( me and MM had a great time talking shit last year)

We can do it with as few as 8 and as many as 20 teams. Once we get enough sign ups I will create the league and we will decide on a draft time.

Once the league is created I recomend everyone look over the rules in case there are any changes that want to be made that can't be dine once the draft starts.

Oh man...I just dropped out of one because I don't want more than 3...

I would like to join only if we keep it around 10, too many more than that and its just too many IMO. I will keep an eye on this thread and see :)

claphamsa 07-18-2008 12:52 PM

I agre with Packer... im in as long as there is 8-12

and he pickes Favre in roudn 1 :)

Lathum 07-18-2008 12:52 PM

I think we had about 12 last year.

I agree about to many teams, I was guilty of doing that this year with baseball

The Jackal 07-18-2008 12:58 PM

I'm in

path12 07-18-2008 12:58 PM

I'm in again. This year I'll remember. Really.

The Jackal 07-18-2008 12:58 PM

I might be in Costa Rica for the draft, but I'll make sure to pre-rank.

Funny :banghead:

PackerFanatic 07-18-2008 01:25 PM

Eh screw it, might as well add another one. I say cap it at 12 :) I am in either way.

claphamsa 07-18-2008 01:26 PM

and you packerfanatic QB #3 from the minnesota vicking.s......

DaddyTorgo 07-18-2008 01:27 PM

i'm in as long as we don't end up with the retarded rules like we had when i did last time (what was it like...start 3 qb's or something?)

jeheinz72 07-18-2008 01:39 PM

In it to win it.

I really would like to see just one QB, definitely NOT 3.

it was 2 and really wasn't a big deal.

retarted is a little strong

Passacaglia 07-18-2008 02:11 PM

I'll play, but if there are 12 others, I don't mind sitting out.

Lathum 07-18-2008 02:16 PM

not sure where people are getting the number 12 from. we can have up to 20 teams

Passacaglia 07-18-2008 02:19 PM

I think people just think that more than 12 gets to be too many for a fantasy football league. But I just realized -- I don't care if there's 16, 20, or 32. So screw the people who want to cap it at 12, I'm in no matter what! :p

Lathum 07-18-2008 02:20 PM

exactly.

I think 20 teams would be fun. Makes it harder

jeheinz72 07-18-2008 02:23 PM

Yeha, I just think if we have more teams we need to be more judicious in how we set lineups. For instance, we'd of course then only have 1 QB if there were 20 teams, etc.

I don't care either way, but I'd prefer to not have to dig up on every teams slot WR to get an edge.

once you get over 12 you see ppeople starting kick returners as WRs and stuff. its the limit on fun :)

the rosters will definantly be adjusted based on number of teams

SnDvls 07-18-2008 02:41 PM

in

oliegirl 07-18-2008 03:34 PM

SeaLion and I will both play...should make for some good pillow talk, and should keep me motivated to actually follow through with my team this time :D

That makes 12 teams...

Autumn 07-18-2008 05:23 PM

I'd like to do it again, it was fun. Frustrating because I couldn't get into the draft for the first few minutes and found out it had drafted Larry Johnson for me.

*fog horn noise*

Hopefully this year I'll do a bit better.

Autumn 07-18-2008 07:10 PM

Sorry, I hadn't read the whole thread yet and seen the passion for 12. Ignore my latecoming if you cap it.

Passacaglia 07-18-2008 08:53 PM

I say stick in anyway -- let the people who want it capped at 12 leave. Personally, I think the more the merrier.

Autumn 07-18-2008 10:19 PM

Of course if they did, then we'd be down to two ;-)

PackerFanatic 07-19-2008 12:18 AM

I've honestly never done a league with more than 12, and I suppose if the rosters are set nicely, it could be fun.

Let's amp it up :)

PS - I wish I could have pillow talk with my wife about fantasy football *sigh*

Autumn 07-20-2008 09:37 AM

I do have pillow talk with my wife about fantasy football, and FOF in general. She loves it when she's having trouble falling asleep, sometimes she'll ask me to do it.

Hahaha...

hoopsguy 07-20-2008 05:00 PM

In if you are still looking for additional participants.

Lathum 07-20-2008 05:02 PM

ok, hoops makes 14, I think we'll cap it there unless there are 2 eally want in.

I am going to post some questions later about rules, etc... so we can vote on them.

Chief Rum 07-20-2008 07:07 PM

I would be interested in joining if someone else wants to join. If not, all good.

RendeR 07-20-2008 09:49 PM

Ok fine, I'm in, but this will be my ONLY fantasy league this season =)

Chief Rum 07-20-2008 10:35 PM

Assuming Render and I aren't pushing it too far, I would recommend we only have one starting QB this year. Having two last year really pushed things. ;)

Lathum 07-20-2008 10:41 PM

yeah, 1 QB and 1 RB looks like the way to go.

I am also thinking it may be fun to do individule defensive players instead of team defense

That's the way I have it in a couple other leagues. To me it's more interesting that way, but I know that requires a little more knowledge of players than some people have time to study. So it's not for everyone.

But for me, it's perfect. Okay, I want to draft Phillip Daniels first!

PackerFanatic 07-21-2008 08:11 AM

Individual DEF players INSTEAD of team DEF, or both?

Lathum 07-21-2008 08:41 AM

instead of

RendeR 07-21-2008 08:50 AM

Definitely have to study the defensive players from last season then. I haven't a clue who really makes points on defense.

PackerFanatic 07-21-2008 09:37 AM

How many we thinking? I would hope no more than 3.

Lathum 07-21-2008 09:55 AM

I would say 2-3 is a good number but I am rng my stance on that. There are alot of casual fans in this league so team D may be the way to go.

RendeR 07-21-2008 01:40 PM

Team D would definitely make things easier

PackerFanatic 07-21-2008 01:56 PM

16 teams...man, this should be awesome :)

oliegirl 07-27-2008 09:59 AM

Do we have any idea when the draft is going to be?

Lathum 07-27-2008 11:11 AM

late august.

I am going to set up everything later today

Lathum 07-28-2008 01:49 PM

OK, league site is up. Here are the settings, I am going to bold the things that I think are different.

The draft is set for Tuesday 8/26 at 8:30 EST, I didn't want to make it to late for east coasters or to early for left coasters.

If you cant be at the draft that fine, you can set a list and have the computer auto draft ( allthough the draft is half the fun)

In order to join you need to join Yahoo.

PackerFanatic 07-28-2008 02:01 PM

I wouldn't mind seeing a flex position, although I have always liked the RB/WR better than the WR/TE.

Only one note about the scoring; why -1 point for a sack on the QB? I feel that is kind of harsh on the QB, especially when a lot of times it can be said that it was the line doing an awful job of blocking.

Plus I think we should have fractional points - less chance of ties then :)

Overall looks good, will be signing up right now! Hooray!

Lathum 07-28-2008 02:07 PM

I thought the RB/WR could create an imbalance. RB tends to be a more powerfull position so the people who get 2 RB's on their team I thought would have a big advantage.

I always thought there should be another way to offset a QB's scoring other then INt's but I can change that
