Advice needed: Should I switch this guy to RB

Recently selected this guy in the SHIBA draft.
Like his receiving skills and was wondering if I should switch him to WR.
He is a little short at 5'10" but weight is 207 lbs

Overall pre-training camp rating is 37/46

Just looking for some advice.
I usually don't play around much with changing positions ... especially in MP leagues.

He's short and a bit heavy for WR. Average size for a WR in FOF is 6' and 196-200. Don't see anything that would lead me to believe that this change would be for the better.

What were his combine number in Agi , 40 yard dash ?

I'd keep him as a RB and use him on passing downs.

I'm sure I read on the forum somewhere that just because a RB has what looks like the right skill set to play WR, doesn't mean he'll be any good as a receiver if you change his position.

Personally I would move the guy. He looks to be a nice guy to slide into the 3rd WR slot.

I would move him to SE or have him be your 2nd FL.

Weight, you can change in TC (hopefully), I moved a similar guy in the HFL (though, he had better rushing skills) and he moved quite nicely.

Solecismic Score:18
40 Time: 4.58
Bench Reps: 18
Agility 7.35
Broad Jump: 9'6"
Position Drill: 21

My scout is GOOD with RBs and has him as HARD TO READ.

Thanks for the opinions guys!

When you try to move him, what does the prompt say about the % skill he will retain?

I am at work right now so I can't try it.
But, this is a MP league, so it really doesn't matter what it says...

The after-switch scout estimate doesn't matter, but the % estimate in the dialog box seems to be relatively close to the result, unless I'm entirely mistaken.

When I change position to FL it says he will retain 93% of his ratings.
When I change position to SE it says he will retain 92% of his ratings.

Then, for giggles I looked at other positions to change to and found this:
When I change to SS it says that there is reason to believe that his ratings will improve.

Anyone know if what drakeborn said is true? Are the percentages indicated truthful in MP leagues?

IN general they are...but they aren't exactly accurate.

Example, if you move a Center to Guard and it says that he will keep only 70% of his ratings, but when you move him his rating actually goes up? The game was right both times. Because guards aren't rated on Long Snapping (not sure why they aren't actually) they 'loose' that rating when moved (ie. it becomes hidden).

There was a running back in the GeFL Ronnie Harmon, a 40 or 50 something rated RB that when moved to WR said he would keep like 80/90% of his ratings, but when the move was made, he was a 77 rated WR and has kept that rating for the past several seasons.

Good synopsis, Yoda. And it jives with my own experience.

Green Caesar 08-17-2008 10:06 AM

I think I am going to keep him at RB.
I don't really need him at WR at this point.
