If you could have your own show on any channel, which channel and what would it be?

I asked this question over the weekend...and I thought it was interesting to consider.

I'd be a co-host of ESPN College Gameday.

Mizzou B-ball fan 08-26-2008 02:03 PM

I'd have a show on the History Channel. I'd start a Civ4 game and then do a TV dynasty of the entire game over 13 episodes.

johnnyshaka 08-26-2008 02:08 PM

This could go in so many directions but my guess is the gutter won't be too far away.

Nonetheless, some combo between Wild On and the Playboy Channel would be nice.

If that isn't a possibility then I think I'd like to host a show that tours every stadium/arena/sporting event location around the world giving viewers perspectives of their favorite places that they likely would never see.

This would be #1 on my TIVO Season Pass priority list.

A great thought that I had was Anxiety doing a similar setup with Crusader Kings. I love his dynasty threads with that game.

korme 08-26-2008 02:10 PM

I'd love to be in a great film around 2 or 3 am on Cinemax.

Too easy, so I'll let somebody else hit this one out of the park.

It was up for awards so I guess some consider it to be on the level of great, but this vague comment could put you on "Brokeback Mountain".

Subby 08-26-2008 02:13 PM

That's pretty easy. When I start The Running Channel I am going to host a variety show with digamma and we are going to have Kara Goucher on EVERY EFFING NIGHT.

Cringer 08-26-2008 02:21 PM

I came in here thinking I would post a show, started thinking about what it would be, and realized I have no desire at all to be on TV. So put me on the 'Who Gives a Shit?" channel, with the camera focused on a blank wall with silence for 30 minutes. :)

Food Network...

Either a cooking show, kind of cooking for large groups (I cook my best when I am cooking for more than 15 people)

or

something like Rachel Ray's $40 a day show....

cartman 08-26-2008 03:02 PM

I've already got one on Comedy Central. You may have heard of it...

Kodos 08-26-2008 03:29 PM

I'd have a recurring role on the longest running sitcom of all time.

Meet the Press?

Kodos 08-26-2008 03:35 PM

Remember to vote Kodos in the coming election.

thesloppy 08-26-2008 03:37 PM

I'd just insert myself into No Reservations, as Bourdain's foul-mouthed stoner buddy/annoyance. I wouldn't have to deal with any of that pesky pontificating, and I'd just eat the shit out of the world, and mock indigenous cultures.

Izulde 08-26-2008 04:05 PM

I'd expand The Beautiful Girl and the History Class into a full-fledged TV series. :D

JediKooter 08-26-2008 04:09 PM

Mine would be on Comedy Central.

lungs 08-26-2008 04:43 PM

Cops, but from the criminal's point of view.

Pumpy Tudors 08-26-2008 05:42 PM

I know there are at least like 5 people here who want to know my answer. Well, y'all ain't gonna get it.

MJ4H 08-26-2008 06:00 PM

pumpy we all know you would do playmania

i would host the mole ldo. any network

thealmighty 08-26-2008 06:40 PM

Discovery Channel or anywhere for that matter. My show would be "Man vs. Not-Wild." I would go spend a week in places all over the world, tough places like Paris, Rome, London, Honolulu- not pussy places like deserts and swamps and freezing mountains. I would show everyone how to survive at 5/6- star hotels and resorts, how to deal with extremely beautiful women throwing themselves at me just because they think I am rich, how to order lobster and filet mignon, etc...

Life's a bitch, but someone needs to do this.

Karlifornia 08-26-2008 06:49 PM

I would be a cornball host of an American Gladiators-style show....but instead of boring ol' Gladiators, it would be bears.

stevew 08-26-2008 08:30 PM

I'd do some sort of realistic budget cooking show on food network. While I love jada, her shit is so expensive. And don't even get me started on the barefoot contessa. That chick will make 20 dollar side dishes

Mustang 08-26-2008 08:36 PM

Game show network. I'd be the host of a real life Running Man game show.. except I wouldn't try to piss off the contestants.

Abe Sargent 08-26-2008 10:12 PM

I'd have a show called Manspace on HGTV and I'd show off different ways for men to decorate, design and have their own rooms and spaces in homes. But without it looking ugly or unnattractive. A space you can be proud of, that serves as a manspace and looks good.

Funny, my second idea was Man vs. GirlsGoneWild

Scholes 08-26-2008 10:48 PM

I'd do a Three Sheets type show - but on HBO because I'd probably get crass in a hurry.

You just want Thom from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's job.
