Computer guys, i need your help......
Ok, i've been having this problem for a long time and its really pissing me off.
I downloaded the CAD(coaching a dynasty) demo like 5 months ago. I played it then deleted it off my computer. But ever since i've deleted it everytime i turn my computer on and windows is booting up, Windows Installer starts trying to install CAD even though its not on my computer. It searchs for it then says it cant find it. Then gives me an error, then it try's to install in all over again. The only way for me to make it stop is to ctrl+alt+del then hit the end task button. Now, this hasnt been such a huge problem until now because i just downloaded Absoulte Manager for Hattrick. After i install Absoulte manager and try to start it up the fucking Windows Installer starts up and try's to install CAD!!!! does anyone know WTF is wrong here and how i can fix it??? |
You should have uninstalled CAD and not deleted it. Not sure how to fix it. Anyone else?
|
Might wanna try re-installing it and then un-installing it.
Yes. I know it makes no sense. |
If you all you did was delete the files from your harddrive you didn't really uninstall it. Try installing it to the same location you had it originally and then uninstall it properly.
|
No, actually it does. By deleting it you don't get all the files off it. If you reinstall and then uninstall it, you should get all the files off the computer. I should have thought of that.
|
Oh it makes sense as a fix. But it makes no sense in aspect that one would actually have to DO something like that to remove an app.
Stupid Windows. |
ok... im Downloading it now... i hope this works
|
If that doesn't work, search the following places.
c:\windows\start menu\startup (look for anything that shouldn't be there) and if nothing there is out of place, go to run and type in 'regedit'. Then do a search for CAD in the registry. If it looks like its referencing the dead program (and make DAMN sure of this), delete it. Disclaimer: If you have to edit the registry, I am not to blame if you screw it up, which one can do. Easily. :) |
If you don't know the difference between deleting files and uninstalling an application I would strongly urge you not to attempt to edit your registry.
EDIT: I realized that might sound a little insulting, but that is not my intention at all. Just trying to give a word of caution. |
