Dear Mr. Brewmans...
Your tea is uber-awesome. K Thnxs
Grantdawg |
I've been on the fence about getting some. How tough is it to brew? I like tea, but I don't have any "brew stations".
Also is there sugar in it (and if so, how much)? Sorry about the Qs but I would really like some additional drink options at home that don't involve soda or alcohol ;) |
Arles,
If you order some send me a PM so I can send some extra too since Paypal wont do discounts. It comes with directions and it takes a little trial and error to find your perfect blend but the brewcard should help you out. Each brew pouch comes with the premium tea blend and Pure Cane Sugar and the Southern sprinklins so all you do is follow the directions and stir...the amounts of the blend are like the Colnels secret spices :) OH, you can control how sweet your blend is by choosing whether or not to squeeze the brewpouches into the pitcher when your wrapping it up, so less 'flavor' means less squeezing. Thanks for the kudos Grant, lemme know when you need a refill :) |
It is not to heavily sweet, Arles. I did the squeezing thing on my first batch, and it was just about perfect. He has unsweeten which I almost ordered. I like the taste of sweet tea, but as a border-line diabetic, I can't take too much sugar. It ended up about perfect for me. The tea-flavor is strong and blended well. Much better than what my wife used to subject me to (which was brown syrup-water).
|
dola: The main reason I like it is because it is pre-sweetened. It is hard to get the sweetness consistant normally even if you use the same amounts every time for some odd reason. This is going to work out great for me.
|
Sounds perfect for me. I have an order coming my way and will let everyone know.

She bought your tea at Mrs. Winner's? ;) (sounds like I'd like your wife's tea) |

You better not TOUCH my wife's tea. :) |
Alright 2 FOFC orders out and Jon got a free one while in development. Anyone else want to order some? Im throwing in an extra pitcher to every FOFC order and hope for some good word of mouth since I lack the funds for good promotion at this time. Its exciting to hear back from you all! :)
|
I tell you, it's some good stuff. Anyone on the fence should give it a chance. It's better for you than soda and tastes better IMO.
|
thanks dude. And I know you used the teamaker but the stove gives a richer taste too if you want to try it sometime, although I admit to using the tea maker for convenience sake :)
|
What in the hell are you guys talking about? This sounds less like tea, and more like cold fusion.
|
Did Flasch get out of real estate and into tea?
|
It really is good stuff.
|
My wife might kill me if I buy any. She still makes her tea by boiling water with tea bags and then adding sugar.

Side business (that I'd love to make my main business someday), check out the site at Mr. Brewman's Premium Southern Sweet Tea |
You do realize that the link is redundant, don't you?
|
I do
|
I will be ordering some very, very shortly (likely next week, when I get paid). Sweet tea is something of an addiction of mine. ; )
|
Tea is all I drink. Will these work with the Mr. Iced Tea maker?
|
It will. I generally put the pouches directly in the pitcher itself when brewing leaving out the ice. When done brewing I will squeeze the pouches into that pitcher and throw them away. Then I just fill the rest of the pitcher with cold water. For me and my machine, the steeper just doesnt give me enough room but perhaps yours is different. see what works for you :)
|
The only note I might add....this tea is very caffinated. My wife's sugar water usually doesn't affect me as much as say drinking Coke Zero. This stuff is pretty high on the caffine it seems. I'm trying not to drink it to late in the evenings (though it is hard not to drink it. :))
|
you are correct in that it is caffeinated for sure. Premium teas carry more caffeine along with other things as well. I was thinking of doing a non-caffeinated version once we get rolling (however the costs are higher for sure and Im not sure what the cutoff is market wise.)

Not for people with signatures turned off. |
didnt think about that.

everyone should/ve gotten their's yesterday and tomorrow....'
lemme know your thoughts. |
Still kicks butt. Although, I have to admit that I may need to try the decaf. I'm not a big caffeine guy and I can tell when I drink this tea there's a little "kick" ;)
|
yeah, its kind of a caffeine thing, so dont drink it too late at night :)
|
Flasch,
You have an amazing thing going here. The Tea is amazing, great flavor! The impressive thing is everything is branded, and the large canvas bag is a unique touch! It may be a niche market, but I think it's one you can corner quite well. |
thanks man, but the question is how do I promote it with a very limited budget. Im doing a Google ad and it gets me a random buy every 10-15 days but Im looking for a way to grow it, perhaps virally and slowly but I feel handcuffed a bit.

Just sent you a lengthy PM. |
Get it featured in porns. j/k
I haven't had a chance to make mine yet, but I should be soon. |
youtube commercials? facebook? myspace? trying to get it included in gift-baskets by shops - either local to you, or online
|
FYI, We are on Facebook, Myspace
Search for Ezekial Brewman and He'll be your bestest friend :) Youtube commercials are in the faroff distance. Giftbaskets and gift shops are in the works locally but it's been a slow go of it. |

Independent supermarkets in the area? I say independent because larger ones I imagine it's more difficult. Catering companies? Corporate cafeterias in office-parks? |
The supermarket idea is a good one.
The catering aspect and cafeteria loses the branding feel. While the taste is good/great IMO without the branding im not sure people will pay for the premium. |

fair enough. i was thinking strictly from a "how to move product" level - you are the guardian of your own brand. what about military/naval personnel? i don't know that you'd be able to navigate through the P/X system to get it on-post, but as a mail-order type thing, advertising to their families to send it to them while they're deployed? |
Quote:
interesting, how do I go about doing this because Im sure they could make it in the field AND it comes self contained in a Burlap sack so it may work? |

like i said - i IMAGINE (though i have no proof) that getting it into stores on the base would be quite difficult (being government and all). I was thinking more - advertising in the paper of a local base (maybe combined with giving some away?). I'm sure some of the more military-minded folks on the board could elaborate, but I'd think really your best bet is going to be word-of-mouth when it comes to service personnel. Get it out there so that somebody ships it off to their husband, and his friends drink it and start clamoring for some...that kind of thing. Like I said though, I'm sure military-folk here on the board would have other suggestions for how to go about it -- maybe there's businesses close to the base that assemble care packages and you can get in with them? Maybe there's a school-fair near one of the bases with a lot of the servicemen's kids where you could go and give some away? Or maybe there's people you could get interested in it - officer's wives clubs, or the base sponsors an American Legion team and there's base personnel there? I think in terms of busting into that market, if you don't want to pay huge $$ for advertising (although maybe that's a supplemental-thing?), you have to get creative and be willing to roll up your sleeves and do a little digging to figure out how. like i said though -- i have no personnel knowledge of this - i'm just throwing thoughts out there. i'd love for someone with real knowledge to give you more guidance |

That sucks. I don't partake of caffeine. |

I was wondering why he was promoting tea. Of course, the real estate market isn't exactly healthy right now. Kind of a strange, but interesting, thread. :) So Flasch, do you own the company or are you just a sales person? |
I own the company and it's just a side job. A little, tiny idea I had that I pushed to the point it is now and a product that seems to be a taste that is like. Still doing real estate and the training gig at the same builder but if I could drop it all and peddle tea I would :)

And you still have time for FOFC. Maybe you can go kill Izulde's spider as well. |

And wear an Affliction t-shirt so, after you kill the spider you can flex your guns. |
and beat someone up?

I hope you get a chance to do it. It is good stuff, and much more convient that what you get at the store. I hope Macro gives you some good advice on advertising, because I think this stuff would sell very well if it where more well known. If you could find an online retailer of some sort? |
Online Retailer?
|
online tea-seller, or online "southern specialties" retailer or something
|
Another way to drum up sales online is with an affiliate program. The Mrs and I have been looking at this for our makeup site, we just do not know if we want to tie up any of our money into the program yet (She is paying our bills off immediately and the profits go right into retirement).
Some affiliate programs require a deposit to pay out of, others will want verification of traffic / sales and some want a percentage off the top of the affiliates they bring in. I have a buddy that runs an affiliate program through commission junction and does quite well with the traffic that people send to him. I made extra $ being an affiliate with commission junction and their advertisers. I am in the process of revamping my entire online business strategy though as several of my sites I have to carry the stock and I do not want to. Oh, that and my server was hacked by a punk, good thing everything is encrypted and processed through paypal and no data is stored on my server there. (Except for customers names and emails) |
