Can anyone explain
the Brooke Shields german engineering baby car thing? I'm seriously not getting it at all.
|
well see pregnant women are buying the car and brooke shields thinks that they got pregnant because they wanted the car but in reality the pregnancy has nothing to do with the car but brooke shields is stalking pregnant women so she can take their babies and eat them and say "this is what pretty baby was really all about"
yea i dont get it either |

Maybe Tom Cruise can tell us what it means, since he knows all there is to know about Brooke Shields. |
Ads are like gossamer and one doesn't dissect gossamer. It's merely a commentary on contemporary mores, a slice of life, a pun, or a Vorshstein.

OK now I need someone to explain what he just said

I sort of like the ads. I tend to mute ads or zip past them, so for a long time I had no idea what was going on. Then I finally heard one and thought it was funny enough.
I know Brooke Shields suffered pretty severly from post-partum depression - that's when Tom Cruise went off on her and psyhicatrists and all of that - so maybe they are playing up that angle a bit. I don't think the commercial message is all that confusing. 1. They are trying to sell their mini-van. 2. Brooke claims that there is an epidemic sweeping the country where people are trying to have babies so that they can justify buying the mini-van. 3. The people behind her are just random people with kids or about to have kids who just happen to own the mini-van and have no idea what she's talking about it. That's supposed to be the funny part of it all. |

I am not going there. I think Mustang must have just spent one hour too long in one of those rooms in his house that is completely dedicated to his action figure collection and is still a bit high off the fumes of all the slowly decaying plastic. |

Or he watched Seinfeld. Either one. |
Reverse psychology on them finally having a family-friendly minivan.
They make a heck of a lot more sense than the Seinfeld / Gates commercials... |

Yeah. These are pretty funny. Seinfeld is quickly becoming the anti-funny. |
Maybe the car knocked her up.

I don't understand how you can find comics so random they're funny but don't understand this. It's not like they're working on an entirely different level.
|
It's German Humor... Don't you understand... it's an oxy-moron!
|
I pretty much got it actually, just thought it would be a fun discussion.
Though I did have the feeling I was missing something with it. |
