Check Out My Pumpkin!

i did this for my 3 month old son, i wanted him to have the coolest looking pumpkin in the neighborhood. i'm really happy how it came out considering i didn't have any proper pumpkin carving tools. took me about 2 hours tonite, give or take. well worth it.

THE JOKER (HEATH LEDGER VERSION)

for reference (not the pic that was used for the pumpkin though)

Fidatelo 10-29-2008 08:52 PM

Nice!

TimGuru 10-29-2008 08:53 PM

Wow, thats awesome. I'm lucky to get the guts scooped out without ruining the outside.

Anthony 10-29-2008 08:56 PM

i'm pleased.

Very nice.

Cheers!

MikeVic 10-29-2008 09:32 PM

Nice. I'm sure your 3-month-old son appreciates it. :)

Why would an infant like a pumpkin carved out that looks like the killer from No Country for Old Men?

Anthony 10-29-2008 10:22 PM

that's the pic that inspired me to do a pumpkin carving that was different than the ole jack o lantern. than i decided i was in the mood for something a bit more intricate and felt like challenging myself. good thing too, cuz when i told the wife about my original vomiting pumpkin idea she wasn't thrilled about it.

same reason why Elton John redid a version of "Norma Jean" for a dead Princess Diana. she couldn't appreciate it, but the thought counted nonetheless.

this is a happy thread, go find some kids to tell them Santa Claus doesn't exist.

Thats what Im doin' on Friday night, along with handing out my big bag full o' ramen noodles.

Nothing answers Trick or Treat like reaching deep into a big black glad garbage bag and pulling out Spicy Shrimp Ramens. Enjoy kiddo!!!

MikeVic 10-29-2008 10:32 PM

Is that the Old Country guy? I thought that was The Joker.

I think it was a nice gesture Anthony

Izulde 10-29-2008 10:42 PM

I thought it was Stalin.

Awesome pumpkin in any case. :)

Lathum 10-29-2008 10:47 PM

I will say that Anthony gets alot of shit around here, much justified, but when he talks about his son you can tell he is a good person who cares deeply about his family.

I thought the same thing, although mostly because of Anthony quoting the Joker in a later post.

That was one hell of an analogy. Kudos to you, that was out-of-the-box thinking on a first rate basis. I'm serious.

stevew 10-30-2008 12:28 AM

Man, if only you had a looped recording of the Joker's cackle laugh inside.

M GO BLUE!!! 10-30-2008 12:30 AM

Nice job on both the pumpkin & the reference to a sh*t song!

Now did you put the pumpkin in the kid's room with a speaker that you can make scary sounds with at 3am?

Karlifornia 10-30-2008 12:45 AM

Don't buy into the lies, people...I bought this same plastic pumpkin at Walgreens...they have all the movie villains.

Celeval 10-30-2008 08:39 AM

Pretty sharp. I want to try something a little more detailed like that next year.

Fidatelo 10-30-2008 08:40 AM

I thought it was the Joker as well. Either way, it's a cool face and a nice treat for the kid.

KWhit 10-30-2008 09:29 AM

I just finished my Wall-E pumpkin for my kids. I'll have to post a pic later.

MizzouRah 10-30-2008 12:03 PM

We're lame.. my wife bought some Mr. Potato Head like things to stick into our pumpkins...

Schmidty 10-30-2008 12:05 PM

Jack Nicholson?

Damn. I feel guilty now.

Still looks like Nicholson though.

Sgran 10-30-2008 12:53 PM

i carved my first pumpkin in 30 years last week. Being the token American here, everyone assumed I knew how to do it. I went on to Youtube for tips (good thing, too). My girl and her two friends drew the designs onto the pumpkin and then I hacked away. I then insisted the girls pull out the guts, but they quickly got grossed out so mom gave them spoons. Spoons! Over my dead body! it's Halloween! Hungarians just don't know nuthin.

it is the Joker my friend (Heath Ledger version). the only way it looks like the No Country for Old Men guy is if he were to take a razor to his face.
