Fantasy Football Advice : Playoff Edition
Big playoff game this week and I have more questions with my lineup than I've had all year. My toughest decision involves tonight's game.
Matt Ryan @ NO or Philip Rivers vs. OAK I'm leaning towards Ryan, but just have a horrible feeling that Rivers goes off tonight. Any opinions here? |
Going on stats alone, NO's pass defense is woeful (24th) compared to Oakland's (8th). Plus, it seems more likely that the NO/Atl game will be high-scoring than the SD/Oak game.
So yeah, Rivers could go off, but Ryan seems the safer bet. |
I would go with Ryan as well. I will be starting Ryan over Romo in a first round playoff game and I feel good about that decision.
Another decision I need to make in that game: Ronnie Brown vs. the Bills or MJD vs. the Bears. I will likely go with Brown, but MJD has been tearing it up on my bench the last few weeks (last week not included) and I would hate to see him go off again. But Chicago's D is still tough and I could see Brown getting more touches. |
I would probably go Brown.
My choice is 2 of the following 4: Stephen Jackson, Brandon Jacobs, DeAngelo Williams, and Clinton Portis We are point per catch as well. |
I'd go with Ryan over NO
I have the quandry of Slaton @ GB, Chris Johnson vs Cleve, Addai vs Cincy and Lynch. I'm thinking CJ and Slaton Plus I got Brandon Marshall vs KC, Colston vs Atl, Andre Johnson @ GB and Steve Smith vs Tampa Bay Right now Smith and Johnson Urg |
I've got 3 QBs: Ryan @ NO, Rodgers @ HOU, or Cassel @ SEA
And I'm not sure who to go with. RBs I have: Ronnie Brown @ BUF, DeAngelo Williams @ TB, LenDale White @ CLE, R. Bush and Pierre Thomas @ ATL. If I go with 3 RBs, then I have to decide between Isaac Bruce @ Jets, Lee Evans @ Miami and Lance Moore @ ATL. |
I am not sure who to go with at QB or WR
QB - Eli or Thigpen 3 WR - Colston, Holmes, Mason, A. Gonzalez, Royal |
Quote:
I dont see much diff in the QBs, go with your gut. Before the last 6 weeks this wouldnt have even been a ?, but I play matchups so Thigpen. Wr= Colston, Holmes, and Royal. |
2 WRs out of this, listed alphabetical.
PPR league One catch for 10 yards worth 2 points, TDs = 6. Davone Bess @Buf (Toronto) Antonio Bryant @Carolina Mark Clayton vs.Washington Lee Evans vs.Miami (Toronto) Santana Moss @Baltimore |
Bryant & Clayton

Here's my team:
QB: Jay Cutler vs KC Matt Cassell @ Sea RB: Willis McGahee vs Was Larry Johnson @ Den Darren McFadden @ SD Kevin Smith vs Minn WR: Steve Smith vs TB Randy Moss @ Sea T.J. Housh @ Indy Chris Chambers vs Oak TE: Kellen Winslow K: Kris Brown Def: Chicago vs Jac Tampa Bay @ Car I'm thinking, QB: Matt Cassell RB: Larry Johnson WR: Steve Smith WR: Randy Moss RB/WR: Willis McGahee TE: Kellen Winslow K: Kris Brown Def: Chicago Anything stick out? You think I should play Housh instead of Willis? |
I'd take Housh and try to find a TE that will play (isn't Winslow out for this weekend?). If it's not a keeper league, might be worth dropping McFadden for a TE that'll get you even a couple points each week unless you think McFadden will explode in the next couple weeks.

I'm in a CBS Sportsline league, and haven't been able to access my league, or any other CBS pages for that matter, for the last 24 hours. Every other site seems to be working fine.
It seems that there's a few people having similar problems from googling the problem and listing pages updated over the last 24 hours: anybody else struggling? |

Hmm.. That's what I get for not being too observant. Here are the Top Five in fantasy points on the list of free TE's: John Carlson(Sea) vs NE Vinsanthe Shiancoe(Min) @ Det Zach Miller(Oak) @ SD Daniel Graham(Den) vs KC Tony Scheffler(Den) vs KC Whatchu guys think? |

I haven't been able to access the site from work (mac) yesterday or today but was able to get onto the site just fine from home last night (pc). |
I'd go with Carlson.

I haven't seen the other guys play much, but Carlson is definitely developing into a Hasselbeck favorite. Certainly wouldn't say that he'll top 100 yards again but he's usually pretty reliable for 50+ yards with a chance at a score as they do tend to look at him in the redzone. He's got good numbers this year which'd look a lot better had Hass not been hurt (Wallace didn't look much his way during his stint behind center). |

Yeah, I ended up going with Ryan and Rivers ended up scoring 28 in our league... and then it got worse. Marion Barber is my 2nd RB and I don't really have anyone solid to replace it him. It's basically a flex position, so any opinions on who get plugged in Barber's spot? Kevin Smith vs. Min Tashard Choice @ Pit Ricky Williams @ Buf Mewelde Moore vs. Dal Maurice Morris vs. NE Chad Johnson @ Ind Justin Gage vs. Cle Nate Washington vs. Dal |
