NFL Wild Card Weekend Game Discussion

Hey, Matt Millen's on NBC to discuss the games.

Will he say something like "I don't know how they made it here, I wouldn't have done anything they would have!"

SirFozzie 01-03-2009 03:05 PM

Ladanian Tomlinson: Questionable, with a detatched tendon to his groin? Yeowww!

DaddyTorgo 01-03-2009 03:08 PM

from what McGinest said there is like no way Tomlinson will play. He said earlier on NFL Network that he had the same injury one time and managed to make it ONE PLAY before having to take himself out for the day

Chief Rum 01-03-2009 03:10 PM

Did Millen say "I really like the wide receivers on both teams." ??

SirFozzie 01-03-2009 03:11 PM

There's a joke in there about Millen's preference for WR, but I won't even go NEAR there.

MrDNA 01-03-2009 03:13 PM

So wait, that really is MATT FRIGGIN MILLEN being asked to commentate on FOOTBALL?

Did I turn on bizarro TV this afternoon?

SirFozzie 01-03-2009 03:31 PM

I'm rooting on Matty Ice today, since the local team are out of it :)

DaddyTorgo 01-03-2009 03:39 PM

GOOOOO MATTY!!!!

Millen was always a pretty good announcer.

What we know now is that he is a horrible terrible evaluator.

Thomkal 01-03-2009 03:44 PM

Go Cards! Nice to get that INT after that run back

Noop 01-03-2009 03:46 PM

Amazing catch by Fitz

larrymcg421 01-03-2009 03:47 PM

Holy shit! What a catch!

MrDNA 01-03-2009 03:47 PM

WOW! What a catch!!

Thomkal 01-03-2009 03:47 PM

OMG! fleaflicker for the TD! what a catch by Fitzgerald

Thomkal 01-03-2009 03:48 PM

Glad to see the Cards come out and score early and not have to come from behind

I'm rooting for the Cards just for Thomkal (and other long suffering Cards fans).

SirFozzie 01-03-2009 03:58 PM

Geez, did some one feed the Falcons OL laxatives or something?

aw shucks :D

MrDNA 01-03-2009 04:07 PM

Actually, as a long suffering Browns fan, I should be rooting for the Cards for the same logic. Also, I like that they're not wearing dumb uniforms. Go Cards!

Jas_lov 01-03-2009 04:12 PM

Doesn't seem like there are many commercials and I like it.

larrymcg421 01-03-2009 04:14 PM

Going to be a long day for the Falcons if they can't get Turner going.

Thomkal 01-03-2009 04:17 PM

nice 1st quarter for the Cards, couple sacks, actual signs of life in the running game, stopping Turner and a great TD

It is not like they are playing a team that has had large amounts of success over their history. I've been a long suffering Falcons fan and need alot of help with the way this game has started! :)

Lathum 01-03-2009 04:19 PM

Falcons look like they are getting into a rythm

Alan T 01-03-2009 04:31 PM

How do you not have anyone covering Boldin

Edit: Nevermind, I see Milloy was playing like a 45 year old.

Thomkal 01-03-2009 04:31 PM

woohoo Boldin!

Jas_lov 01-03-2009 04:33 PM

They did have someone covering him, Lawyer Malloy, and that was their problem.

larrymcg421 01-03-2009 04:38 PM

Roddy White! Argh.

Thomkal 01-03-2009 04:47 PM

and that sadly has been the typical lack of defense from the Cards of late

Thomkal 01-03-2009 04:50 PM

*sigh*

Jas_lov 01-03-2009 04:50 PM

Falcons looking good now after the INT. They just need to bench Lawyer Malloy. And the refs need to start calling offsides on Arizona's D.

Alan T 01-03-2009 04:52 PM

Now things are looking up

Yeah, I don't usually like to get all over the refs for missing calls against my team as I figure calls go both ways at some point, but it is getting a bit rediculous. The last guy was across the line and had almost knocked over the blocking back before a whistle even blew.

Thomkal 01-03-2009 04:59 PM

well that was a waste of a good start

MrDNA 01-03-2009 05:02 PM

Alan! ridiculous! This is not an infraction I would expect from you!

But, your team is winning, so you get a little slack ;)

bulletsponge 01-03-2009 05:04 PM

halftime. finaly i dont have to hear collinsworth yap his hole

I have a decent excuse for why that was spelled wrongly :) I usually am a lousy speller, and depend heavily on firefox's spell corrector to make sure that I don't look too much like an idiot in my posts. Tonight I have toddler duty, and she wants to watch Lazytown on the tv, so I am watching the falcons game through my slingbox on my laptop and not really looking at what I am typing :)

Nice to see the same old Cardinals returned in the 2nd quarter. Arizona has 5 straight carries for 32 years (6.4 ypc). After that, Arizona throws 7 straight incomplete passes. I just can't understand why they don't even try a run after that early success. But there's a lot about the Cardinals I don't understand.

DaddyTorgo 01-03-2009 05:19 PM

blah - well that was a freaky play

Thomkal 01-03-2009 05:19 PM

woot! of course I walked in just after the TD and missed it. :(

Alan T 01-03-2009 05:21 PM

Good lord, Turner had all day to run if not for that timeout

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice that. Dungy also says "young men" too often in general.

Logan 01-03-2009 05:31 PM

As I watch Tiki Barber perform his sideline reporter duties, I think back to all the BS he was spewing during his self-publicized retirement tour, about how he was going to move on to bigger and better things. He really thought he was going to be on 60 minutes interviewing presidential candidates and other world leaders.

Instead he's getting injury updates from waterboys.

Jas_lov 01-03-2009 05:32 PM

Now the refs are screwing the Cardinals. That was a pretty obvious hold there on Fitz.

Alan T 01-03-2009 05:32 PM

Looks like the no-penalty calls are coming back to favor the Falcons in the second half to make up for the ones in the first half. Falcons really need a good drive here, they have looked rattled most of the second half

Thomkal 01-03-2009 05:33 PM

thanks ref for the two blown calls on what would have been the safety and then the hold or pass interference there

Thomkal 01-03-2009 05:49 PM

great drive there Cards
