Very Simple Accounting Software for Small Business

I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with very, very simple accounting software.

I just want to be able to keep track of billed hours, total owed, total paid, balance...things like that. I need it to be able to keep track of multiple clients and hopefully provide me with some kind of overall summary of finances.

I can definitely use excel if needed but I was hoping I could find something that's already set up for me to use.

Thanks in advance.

I'm part owner of a Metal Plating shop in Cleveland (we employ 14) and we use Peachtree and I think it will do the exact job you're looking for... hope this helps.

Doesn't Microsoft offer a free download of its Accounting Express?

I just downloaded something free from MS. It looks nice but goes so far beyond the scope of what I need and seems rather complicated.

Thanks for the tips though guys, I'm gonna check out Peachtree.
