If elected President, what would you wear to your inauguration?
 

In light of todays festivities, I ask the question in the title of the thread.

I hate getting dressed up and I hate dog and pony shows where people try to out dress each other and I also hate how the media makes such a big deal of who is wearing what. So, I'd wear something like this (I like the blue one):

Is there any doubt?

I do like this one though. Just so the ladies don't blush too much.

Well my right foot always is a bit colder than the left.

According to my two closest friends, I'd wear jean shorts and an Elway jersey.

But that's only a stereotype of me that I reinforce on special days, like their birthdays, or weekends. Or Tuesdays. That sort of thing.

I like getting dressed up.

On the serious side, part of me thinks the president should have to walk into Target and pick out his outfit, while the other side sees that we do need to send a very nice image out to the rest of the world. Of course that other side says f the rest of the world, so there's that.

I think it'd be cool to see them go and use designers who are off-the-rack, but at the same time, given the sums of money they spend to get to this point...and understanding the pageantry and traditions involved in all of this...I dunno, it'd be like asking someone to wear jeans to their wedding.

Though having $150 million to work with I'd get a little nicer costume than this one.
