Goin' Down to South Park (now in HD!), Season 13 discussions (prob. has spoilers)

It's about that time! Season 13 of South Park kicks off this Wednesday, March 11th, 10pm Eastern. And, if your provider carries Comedy Central in HD, the new season will be in High Def!

Here's the blurb about the upcoming season premier:

Their seasons start and end on such weird dates.

Regardless, I am excited.

cartman 03-11-2009 09:12 PM

So far I've laughed out loud at least six times, and it is just the first commercial break!

PackerFanatic 03-11-2009 09:26 PM

I saw it recording and I got excited...I look forward to watching it this weekend.

yacovfb 03-11-2009 09:30 PM

That ending was hilarious. Good start to the new episodes.

cartman 03-11-2009 09:30 PM

Oh, this was the best episode they've had in several seasons. Simply awesome!

Radii 03-11-2009 09:54 PM

WOW that was an outstanding episode from start to finish. :D

DeToxRox 03-11-2009 11:22 PM

Well fucking done.

sabotai 03-11-2009 11:30 PM

They really ripped the Jonas Brothers and Disney apart there at the end. Simply awesome.

DeToxRox 03-11-2009 11:32 PM

I know Cartman wants some white Jonas Brothers foam on his face.

+1. My favorite since either the WoW episode or the Return of Chef episode.

Here's the promo and sneak peek for the second episode of the season:

Quote:

One young citizen takes it upon himself to maintain order during a time of despair in South Park. An all-new episode of "South Park" titled, "The Coon,” premiers on Wednesday, March 18 at 10:00 p.m. on COMEDY CENTRAL.

“The Coon” rises from the trash and takes his place as a lone vigilante who wipes out crime in the town of South Park. A rival superhero appears on the scene in the form of “Mysterion” and challenges the Coon’s place as a “symbol” for the town.

cartman 03-23-2009 11:47 AM

I thought it was a solid episode. They did a great spoof on the crime fighting genre. And it is always great to see Professor Chaos make an appearance. But it was a bit of a let down compared to the instant classic that was the opening episode of this season.

cartman 03-23-2009 11:49 AM

Now, on to this week's episode. It has some great expectations. It evidently will focus on Randy, and his plan to fix the economy.

Quote:

Everyone in South Park is busy pointing fingers when it comes to who is responsible for the state of the economy in all-new episode of "South Park" titled, "Margaritaville,” premiering on Wednesday, March 25 at 10:00 p.m. on Comedy Central.

Randy steps forward with a solution to fix the desperate financial state everyone finds themselves in. The town gets behind him and everyone starts to live a life that no longer depends on any economy at all. Meanwhile an unlikely savior makes the ultimate sacrifice to solve everyone’s problems.

DeToxRox 03-23-2009 11:49 AM

It was a good Watchmen parody. The Bruce Valanch part had me rolling.

Radii 03-23-2009 12:20 PM

Wait, I thought the last episode was 100% a Dark Knight parody? Other than the fact that there existed multiple superheroes, all of the specific things that they were making fun of came directly from the Dark Knight, didn't it?

The opening sequence is from The Watchmen, but yes, the bulk of it was drawn from The Dark Knight.

ISiddiqui 03-23-2009 12:53 PM

Yeah, a small bit from Watchmen (the opening specifically), but mostly TDK.

PackerFanatic 03-23-2009 01:51 PM

The Bruce Valanch part was hilarious.

Qwikshot 03-24-2009 08:52 AM

I hated last season, but man, if the first two episodes are a glimpse of what's in store, I cannot wait to watch the rest.

Radii 03-25-2009 10:19 PM

Oh my god they are on FIRE. That was absolutely brilliant.

Doug5984 03-25-2009 11:16 PM

Wow, awesome.

cartman 03-25-2009 11:21 PM

Yeah, another stellar episode. Whatever they did this past season break, they need to keep doing!

Ronnie Dobbs2 03-26-2009 06:39 AM

I'm not sure what you all saw in that Jonas Brothers one, but the last two have been a return to form for sure.

You probably don't have kids.

On this note, Jonas Brothers tickets for the Lexington show go on sale Saturday and since the show is about a week from my daughter's birthday, I have been given the directive by my wife to secure prime tickets. She watched the SP JB episode with me, yet was still not swayed when I told her I didn't think Caitlin should go to the show because I was concerned she'd turn into a slut. DAMN!

Flasch186 03-26-2009 07:42 AM

SLUTS!

Bad-example 03-26-2009 10:28 AM

Don't have kids, so the Jonas Bros episode didn't really do it for me.

Didn't see Watchmen or Dark Knight, so the Coon episode didn't either.

The economy episode was pretty funny, I guess.

DeToxRox 03-26-2009 10:33 AM

Randy centered episodes cannot be bad.

cartman 03-30-2009 01:42 PM

Here's the scoop on this week's episode:

Quote:

THE 4TH GRADE BOYS ARE THE VICTIMS OF AN APRIL FOOL’S JOKE in an all-new episode of "South Park" titled, "Eat, Pray, Queef,” premiering on Wednesday, April 1 at 10:00 p.m. on COMEDY CENTRAL. Someone played an April Fools joke on the boys and it didn’t go over well. Butters is incapacitated, Cartman is furious and the rest of the boys are afraid someone might do it again.

BreizhManu 04-02-2009 01:49 PM

yes.

3 out of 4 ain't bad at least.

DeToxRox 04-02-2009 04:17 PM

An okay episode, saved by the Road Warrior Queef.

duckman 04-02-2009 05:14 PM

That was one of those "What the fuck?!" episodes.

DeToxRox 04-02-2009 06:16 PM

That was also a parody of the Cartman's dad episode where it was never intended to be known, and they did the April Fools joke and aired a Terrance & Phillip episode instead.

cartman 04-06-2009 11:57 AM

Info on this week's episode:

Quote:

Cartman decides to help Jimmy with his comedy routine. Everyone loves the new joke they come up with. The joke starts to take off and it even hits all the late night talk shows. The boys are thrilled with how popular it’s become until somebody tries to take all the credit.

Ksyrup 04-06-2009 12:15 PM

With that teaser, if this episode doesn't result in the complete destruction of Carlos Mencia, I will be sorely disappointed.

cartman 04-08-2009 01:05 PM

This is pretty awesome:

South Park creators given signed photo of Saddam Hussein - Telegraph

Quote:

South Park creators given signed photo of Saddam Hussein

Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of South Park, were given a signed photo of Saddam Hussein by US marines after the former Iraqi leader was shown their movie in prison.

During his captivity, US marines forced Saddam, who was executed in 2006, to repeatedly watch the move South Park: Bigger, Longer And Uncut, which shows him as gay, as well as the boyfriend of Satan. He was also regularly depicted in a similar manner during the TV series.

The admission comes with the show's 13th season already running in the US. It will celebrate its 12th anniversary later this year.

The show, which satirises a wide range of topics, including religion, sexuality and mental illness, has won a number of awards including three Emmys for Outstanding Animated Programme.

Recent episodes have seen Barack Obama using his Presidential victory as a way to steal jewels from Washington in an Oceans 11-style heist.

It also recently depicted the United States Treasury as deciding economic measures by cutting the head off a chicken and letting it run on a game show style board, landing on a decision.

Stone, 37, said both he and Parker, 39, were most proud of the signed Saddam photo, given to them by the US Army's 4th Infantry Division.

He said: "We're very proud of our signed Saddam picture and what it means. Its one of our biggest highlights.

"I have it on pretty good information from the marines on detail in Iraq that they showed Saddam the movie.

"Over and over again – which is a pretty funny thought.

"That's really adding insult to injury."

cartman 04-08-2009 09:02 PM

That Easter Bunny episode they had as a lead-in is still one of the funniest ones they've done.

sabotai 04-09-2009 01:45 PM

Classic episode. Kanye West, Carlos Mencia, Cartman's fucked up memories, Clyde's advice, all great.
