So many questions

Hi,
I have been playing FOF for about 3 weeks. I have a ton of strategy questions. It seems this is a very sophisticated board and I suspect most of my questions have been answered long ago, probably in the earlier forum. Is there a way to still look that FOF4 forum over? How?
Or should I just start asking here?
Thanks,
Merry the Hobbit :D

Oh just start asking away

You might also check the reference thread stickied at the top as a starter.

And take some time to go through and read as many threads as the subject interests you. You'll likely find answers to a lot of your questions and you'll find answers to questions you never thought of but wanted to know the answers to anyway. But there are plenty of unasked questions so feel free to ask away.

Defence questions

Hi,
I've read many recommended posts but I still have questions.
(1) Aside from getting a big lead my game planning does not help my defence much. ( Using the AI's is better than mine!) Are there good pre-designed defences like the offensive ones?
(2) I would like to try double teaming the best receiver and putting my best corner on the 2nd best? Will "zone strong side" ; "double team best receiver" do that? Will the computer take advantage of using my zone strong so much?
(3) Are there posts with good defensive data driven tactics information? Or is experienced insight what I should be reading about?
Thankyou,
Merry the Hobbit

Listen to what the guys are saying, but remember, there are no simple cookbook recipes to win. You're going to have to play the game a lot and make up your mind about many things on your own. That's what makes FOF fun to play.

I don't think it's possible to double-cover your opponents best WR with your 2nd CB and the FS. At least not all game long.

I think the best you can hope for is to orient by side of the field. That will potentially isolate your CB1 on one-side against WR2 and your CB2 on the other against WR1. The double-cover would then follow both CB1 and CB2 depending on where WR1 lines up. I would have no idea how often you would get the matchup you are looking for though.

If you've figured out this much, you're way ahead of most FOF'ers on defense.

The consensus right now is that players are more important than game plan on defense. That said, you can look at team tendencies and adjust your game plan accordingly.

What digamma said. Do well on offense. Collect big red bars on defense. Pay attention to what your upcoming opponent likes to do.

pay attention

Hi,
Against the AI:
To "scout" the next opponent do you just use the scouting summary and their team stats, or should you look through their game-logs too?
Merry
