In keeping the tradition of "What the hell..." threads, here is a new one.
Here's what the hell I am driving... |

So, when are you gonna give me the tour of Jurassic Park? |

After feeding time. |
I have a 98 Toyota Corolla. If you want to see what it looks like, just turn your head towards the nearest road. There should be one going past.
|
Hey! Was that you?
|

I would have stopped, but I had to come home and post this reply. |

Makes sense. I was going to buy you a beer. |
And behind that Corolla, you'll see my Camry or my wife's Avalon.
|
Last week, I got a 2008 Toyota Rav4.
![]() |
'99 Ford Escort wagon and a '98 Ford Ranger.
They both run wonderfully (the Escort has a rebuilt engine with only 30k miles), and even better - no car payments!! I'm not a car person, so having a sexy vehicle doesn't mean anything to me. |
Looks like Toyota is winning so far.

![]() This is what Telle and I roll in. 2003 Pontiac Vibe, 4 Cylinder, Standard I thought I'd hate it when we looked at them, but I've grown to love this car. it handles like the imitation rice-rocket that it is. |
09 Mustang!
|
'07 Mazda 3.
If it was still light out, I'd go take a picture, it's a pretty shade of blue. /tk |

We went 2 years without car payments (we also have a 2000 Saturn). Unfortunately, my 1999 Honda CR-V decided to get terminally ill last week. |
2007 Infiniti G35
![]() |
2007 Nissan Maxima
I am going to get an Audi or something in that class in a few months. I love my Maxima but I am in the mood for something new. |
|
97 Hyundai Elantra with 185,000 miles
and 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan modified for rear-entry wheel-chair with about 60,000 miles Here they are with icing on top. ![]() |

we're 2 years post payments on teh vibe and I have to say having my mother's Impala to drive as a second car while she was in the hospital became VERY convenient. I may start looking for my pickup truck in the fall. I hear GM models might be really cheap..... |
currently driving a 2005 Saturn Ion for which the end of the lease can't come fast enough. Pulled the trigger on a 2009 Mazda 3 last night, should take delivery in the next couple of weeks... :)

93 Honda Prelude with 165,000 miles baby.

This isn't my actual car, but it is what it looks like. Can't tell if this one is black like mine:
![]() 1999 Honda Civic EX - Mine has about 75,000 on it. |
06 mazda 3

|
'07 mazda 3
|
'02 Mercury Cougar that's being put out to pasture approximately 5 seconds after I get a new job.
|
I am currently leasing an 07 VW Jetta. I leased because I knew I'd be in a better financial situation when the lease was up then when I entered into it and sure enough this looks like it will be true. But being relatively young, I think I'm going to just get a nicer VW (Passet or CC) rather than driving something that is conspicuously wealthy, even if I could afford it.

Going green baby :)

Sun Tzu you are a success at life.
|
Thank you.
Oh...and after looking @ the pic I realized it's not blatantly obvious that we're standing next to a Prius. So yeah, I drive a Prius. Insert joke about pulling my mancard *here* |
2007 Mazda Tribute.
Our other car is a Chavy Impala, but it's my wifes company car and the free gas/ insurance/etc.. is a great perk. |
Mazda 3 must be the Official Car of FOFC.

I'm really surprised by how many people that have new cars. I don't get it. Seems like a waste of money to me.
Then again, as many people here know - I am cheap as hell. |
Quote:
For me it was a no brainer. I know jack all about cars, and unless you're buying a real cheap used vehicle the difference in interest rates between new and used (at least when I bought) evened out the cost in a hell of a hurry. Throw in the differences in warranty terms between the two and new was the way to go. Different strokes and all, but given the peace of mind/security, more than made up for the difference. |
I have bought a couple of new cars in the last five years (before the Infiniti I had a Mazda RX-8) but that is highly unusual for me - previous to that I had the same car for about eight years. I plan on keeping my G35 as long as I can though.
|
This is what Im driving, but not my exact car. What I mean is, I'd live in all other 49 states before living in wacked out left coast California. But yeah, thats my ride. |
With the 2nd child we got rid of our oldest beater...my '91 VW GTI and purchased a used '06 Dodge Grand Caravan for the wife to drive the kiddies around in. I now drive a '94 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.
Nice not to have a car payment...let alone, two of them. |
Quote:
I will never buy another used car. I haven't had bad axpieriences, it's just worth it to spend the extra money IMO |
Quote:
See, that's where my question lays - Why is it worth it? I could get a new car, but I don't understand why I should take on more debt for something that gets me from one place to another. Meh, to each their own I guess. |
