who is the NBA MVP? 08-09 edition

I'd say the choice is LeBron, Kobe or maybe D-Whistle. I'm obviously pulling for the King but could accept a Kobe win. Probably should come down to the team with the best record. And I think Kobe taught LeBron a ton this summer about being a professional at the Olympics. If Wade wins it will be a minor travesty. Tho nothing like the B2b Nash fiascos.

I think that traveling layup last week probably won it for Lebron.

You call it a traveling layup, I call it shades of Jordan.

Or a crab dribble.

Epic lack of poll fail. Can someone add one plz.

I would vote for Lebron James. I know Mo Williams is a great shooter and the team plays excellent defense, but to me it's still amazing that James is on a 64-15 team with that roster.

James also averages more points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals than Bryant while having a slightly better FG%

James is the MVP in my book, but JiMGA makes a good point about that fucker travelling 5-10 times a game.

Absolutely Lebron for all of these reasons.

I think it's clearly LeBron.

More interesting (and less noteworthy) to me is who is second. Wade's been fantastic, but Kobe's taken the Lakers through another season where their team lost a major player again and came out just fine (better, actually).

MrBug708 04-11-2009 07:45 PM

I'm pretty unbias about the whole thing, but Lebron deserves it. I do think it's a travesty that Shaq and Kobe each personally have the same amount of MVP's as Allen Iverson and that Shaq and Kobe together have the same amount as Steve Nash, or that Steve Nash has two MVP's.

I think once Lebron wins it (this season likely), Kobe won't ever have a shot at it again because it'll be a whole new generation of players

Lebron should be MVP this season. Kobe has been good, but the Cleveland LeBrons have been amazing all year.

Wade, while good, is eliminated by virtue of why Lebron hasn't won it yet. The Heat aren't even the best team in their own division. The Cavs under Lebron are finally on top of their division, with the Pistons collapsing.
