HOCKEY DRAFT PARTY?
 

So, I've been invited to the Islanders "draft party", at the Nassau Coliseum next Friday. Has anyone ever been to one of these, or know what they are all about? I am in no way, shape, or form a hockey fan, but I do like a good drinkfest every now and again, which is what I'm assuming this is? Wondering if it is something worth my time, or if it's just gonna be a bunch middle-aged men hootin and hollerin about a bunch of foreign hockey kids whose names I can't pronounce.

It sounds like a way for the Isles to make a buck on concession sales.

They are probably raising money to help move the team to Kansas City.

Wear a Leafs jersey with "Tavares" on the back.

Haha. I did a little google search on it, apparently they will burn the Coliseum down if they don't pick this Tavares kid. I think I'm gonna go for it, from what I'm told we will have access to free beer, so it can't be a total waste.

I would make a joke about the Islanders not having many fans, but apparently they're touchy about that. The folks at the official newyorkislanders.com forum saw one of my blog posts and asked for an official retraction/apology from me.

Say, has that team from Toronto won anything recently? :D
