There are so many different angles of ridiculous on this story

Joe the Plumber: God told me not to run for office | ksdk.com | St. Louis, MO

That restores my faith in God.

C'mon, God talks in "thee"s and "thou"s. ;)

It's this moron that screws it up. If he'd have been Moses, there'd be a commandment about beef jerky or he'd have screwed it all up and it'd be ok to kill people ("Thou shalt not? Is that one of them double negatives?")

Subby 07-02-2009 09:44 AM

He was "like" no, but he was actually "fuck no".

CamEdwards 07-02-2009 10:58 AM

I wonder if God has told him that his 15 are up yet?

JediKooter 07-02-2009 11:40 AM

I don't know who this God person is, but, I'm glad he had the common sense to tell this moron that he should not run for office.

Maybe God has it right & we have it wrong.

Why do I see "Joe the Plumber" walking the earth in a robe & sandals, blessing the conservatives wherever he shall go-eth?

JonInMiddleGA 07-02-2009 11:49 AM

As opposed to Al Franken being elected to Congress?

Hell, that makes Joe look like a worthy candidate to be named Treasury Secretary, Supreme Ruler for Life, and Pope ... simultaneously.

Alas, we're stuck with the same one. Pity for us both I reckon.

Al Franken: Degree from Harvard
Joe the Plumber: "[The Founding Fathers] knew socialism doesn't work. They knew communism doesn't work."

Al Franken: the Democratic Rush Limbaugh.

There is no democratic Rush Limbaugh. I don't see anyone in their party who controls a huge set of the fringe to the point where leaders of said party defer and grovel to him.

Al Franken rose to prominence as a media voice to counter Rush. He's just as much of a blowhard and an idiot.

albionmoonlight 07-02-2009 12:53 PM

And Rush also likes to wear diapers and dress in bunny suits.*

*probably

When compared to Limbaugh, I agree that Frankin is just as much of a schill. When compared to the Plumber I think Frankin has a little more going for him than the guy who talks to God.

Ronnie Dobbs2 07-02-2009 01:09 PM

FWIW I think that both Franken and Limbaugh are blowhards, but not idiots. Joe Plumber is both.

this

JediKooter 07-02-2009 01:47 PM

It think Al should do his first address as Stuart Smalley.

Sgran 07-02-2009 01:55 PM

I think no state can touch Minnesota's elected officials. Then again, California has had the governator and Sony Bono. hmm...

Hell, or Ronald Reagan for that matter. Didn't he basically go actor to governor?

An educated idiot is still an idiot, just one that wasted a large amount of cash.

I am willing to agree to this.

I am unlikely to ever agree that Franken as a Senator is a good idea, anymore than most folks would think Limbaugh as a Senator is a good idea.

Given the millions he made largely because of doors that Harvard degree opened I'm not sure how you can say he wasted his money.
