Radio shows to TV
I watched the Dan Patrick show on Direct TV this morning. I love their studio.
It seems to be a growing trend with Mike and Mike, The Herd, Scott Van Pelt show at times, etc. I think in some instances it's a good think but Mike and Mike show that too much of it and the lines between sports and entertainment get blurred way too much. I like the guys to still focus on sports more than entertaining the audience. |
I thought this was going to be about Jack Benny and Burns and Allen.
On topic though I can't imagine why I want to see sports radio guys do their show on the tube. |
Mike & Mike are barely tolerable on the radio, on tv they are insufferable. Don't care for VanPelt either, he does a lot of ass-kissing to the big names in sports. Cowherd is ok sometimes, he tends to tell things the way they are and not how people want to hear them. The blonde girl on his tv show isn't bad to look at either.
Overall, I have no real desire to watch radio shows on television. |
Makes a ton of sense for the networks though. They can fill a ton of programming time up with just a small added expense, and nothing that approaches what it would cost for original programming.

My first thought was The Lone Ranger. Didn't Howard Stern do this years before any of these sports guys? |
I know Stern had his edited E show on at night, but not sure if he did a telecast at any point. I don't remember that unless it was early on.
Imus simulcasted though - MSNBC? |
Did anyone happen to catch Jim Mora Jr on ESPN Radio with Doug Gottlieb a few minutes ago?
Man, what a cock. |

Oddly enough, I caught the recap of it just before coming inside & getting back online. No Doug, that wasn't about anything you did or said. That was just a village idiot being a village idiot. |
Explain, otherwise you're the real cock(tease).

Something Vick related, per twitter.

lol. Basically Gottlieb was interviewing him, started asking him about Vick, Mora got really defensive. Then went on to ask Gottlieb if this was his first interview, throwing a "jesus christ!" in there. Then at the end Gottlieb thanks him and Mora throws out "you were a real joy" There were a few more jabs in there but Mora came across as a real ass who was looking for a fight. |

Yeah? Anyone have an article link or such? |
Ask and the blogosphere will provide
Jim Mora Doesn’t Like Doug Gottlieb’s Line of Questioning: “Is This Your First Interview?” | The Big Lead |

Danke. |
This can't be the first time JMJ has been on sports talk radio or a sports show in general. 95% of those consist of people trying to tell you what to think or how you should feel.
|
It's nice to see the Green Hornet jump from radio to the big screen.

It was a radio interview in Washington that cost him his job. He is a major moron. |

Wow, can't believe I forgot about that. |
lol
and Cowherd comes on this morning and passive aggressively slams Mora. My favorite line Cowherd says if he asked me if this was my first interview I would have either ended the interview there or said "my show is on fire and you are unemployed" lol. Also says he is difficult, his attitude has made him a bad coach and he acts like he was born on third base and feels like he hit a triple. |
I know it's a reasonably common saying, but it's funny that I just read a guy on the footballguys.com board use that same phrase to describe Mora yesterday.
|
I'm not saying Mora isn't a jerk, but the level of those questions was beyond inane.
