home all day, what trilogy should I watch?

Home all day and no good sports on. Decided I am going to watch a trilogy. Which one should I watch?

Ronnie Dobbs2 09-15-2009 01:25 PM

Look Who's Talking.

Cringer 09-15-2009 01:25 PM

Two more completely pointless threads today and you have a trilogy right here on FOFC. I will be watching for that.

spleen1015 09-15-2009 01:25 PM

The Bourne Trilogy

SackAttack 09-15-2009 01:28 PM

Robocop.

Galaril 09-15-2009 01:31 PM

Matrix Tril or Lord of the Rings

MJ4H 09-15-2009 01:32 PM

star wars ldo

Subby 09-15-2009 01:48 PM

Matrix, easily.

molson 09-15-2009 01:53 PM

Karate Kid.

But instead of Part III, watch Part I twice.

gstelmack 09-15-2009 01:55 PM

Won't the LotR trilogy take part of tomorrow, too?

No Matrix since the last two basically sucked. Or to steal Molson's thunder, watch the Matrix trilogy, but instead of parts 2 & 3 watch Part 1 three times.

And are we talking the ORIGINAL original Star Wars trilogy, or the remake where Greedo shoots first? That makes all the difference in the world.

Coffee Warlord 09-15-2009 01:57 PM

Godfather Trilogy.

Never understood the hate for Reloaded.

Did Reloaded have the whole orgy / primitive dance scene? That whole bit just turned me. I think the first part of the second one was pretty good (and maybe if I'm honest the first part of the third one was reasonable), but the end of the second and third both just left me disappointed.

I loved the action scenes, it was when they stopped to tell a story that they did a much worse job than they did with #1.

He only has a day.

I vote Indiana Jones trilogy. Just forget the fourth movie was ever made.

Subby 09-15-2009 02:19 PM

Primitive dance scene was awful for sure and Zion was pretty disappointing on the whole.

I don't even associate that part with the movie b/c I usually get up and doing something during that part (or fast forward if I have it DVRed.)

Subby 09-15-2009 02:20 PM

Kill Bill not a trilogy, but kickass just the same.

kingfc22 09-15-2009 02:24 PM

Back to the Future

Dr. Sak 09-15-2009 02:24 PM

See how much porn you can watch in a day.

stevew 09-15-2009 02:26 PM

Transporter 1-3

Or the Pirates trilogy(porno or disney)

Logan 09-15-2009 02:26 PM

Major League trilogy.

Neon_Chaos 09-15-2009 02:45 PM

What, no Back To The Future?

NewIdentity 09-15-2009 02:56 PM

Why the Mad Max trilogy of course.

I almost said this, but I'm not that much of a masochist. Or we could suggest that he stop after watching the first two.

I've done the trilogy in a day before.

It's...a lot of godfather.

Barely Legal 1-18.

Kodos 09-15-2009 03:24 PM

Alien trilogy. Just skip the third one.

Travis 09-15-2009 03:25 PM

Instead of a trilogy just go with the late 70's TV miniseries version of Shogun. It's doable in one sitting if you're really dedicated ;)

MikeVic 09-15-2009 03:26 PM

No one's mentioned Terminator? I even think the third one is alright, but #2 is just aces and #1 is still solid.

Kodos 09-15-2009 03:31 PM

No one has mentioned Air Bud 1-3?

Logan 09-15-2009 03:36 PM

No update yet?

Either Lathum is about to finish up the first Matrix, or he's passed out from stroking through Debbie Does Dallas I-III.

It was a bad movie. The dance/orgy scene was bad, but other than the highway scene, the action scenes were also quite dull.

The Neo vs. 1,000 Mr. Smiths was like watching a video game. None of the fights had any texture or granularity to them. It was just boring. Neo, the invisible guy, versus a bunch of people. None of the punches or kicks or blows seemed to have any impact to them and there was never any real sense of danger or peril. It was just a bunch of effects and people going through the motions.

It was the complete opposite in the first movie. People bled, there was always a sense of danger with the various agents around, and even with all of the cool effects the fights felt sort of real and not just video-gamey.

Reloaded also ended with that scene with that old dude in the white room. That was just a bunch of insufferable pretentious babbling non-sense.

All this being said, it was much better than Revolutions or whatever the third movie was called.

And the 4th. Most definitely the 4th.

I went with Star Wars, at the time it was in the lead.

I'll have to do LOTR tomorrow.

It's a good choice, but I wouldn't just go 1-3. I'd replace "Air Bud: World Pup" with "Air Bud, 7th Inning Fetch"

Karlifornia 09-15-2009 04:22 PM

Do the Leprechaun series

Easy watch the first Matrix movie, then the first Highlander Movie, then the first Back to the Future movie - then spend time posting on FOFC about how the first flm of a trilogy is always the best ;)

Groundhog 09-15-2009 06:17 PM

Both sequels to the Matrix are so bad (3rd is worse than the 2nd though, but both are a MASSIVE step down) they actually diminish the quality of the 1st. :(

Then watch Empire Strikes Back and realize you wasted your time posting a bunch of BS. :)

One of the greatest series ever to bore and depress me so much that I can't watch it anymore. Maybe not boring the first time, but definitely depressing whenever I view it.

Excellent though.

I know I'm in the minority, but I really enjoyed Alien Resurrection.

thesloppy 09-15-2009 07:21 PM

Try the Vengeance Trilogy from Park Chan-wook:

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
Oldboy
Sympathy for Lady Vengeance

On second thought, don't. Watching all three of those in a row would probably just make me whimper and go to bed.

I really liked a Danish crime trilogy called Pusher (1,2 & 3), but it's really slow and low-budget.
