NFL Week 7

Well, it's another bad week of football games on paper with the best match up probably going to Minnesota vs Pittsburgh, followed by the Gmen vs Falcons on SNF and then I guess Atlanta at Dallas.

Plus we have New England who will probably drop a bomb on the Bucs in London and Michael Crabtree making his first professional start.

Should be a ton of fun.

JS19 10-20-2009 03:34 PM

Giants vs Cardinals... As a Giants fan, I really wanna see how they rebound from the Saints disaster. If Brees and company can exploit their D like that, one would think Warner should do the same.

Sucks that Atlanta has to play twice.

Looking forward to the Dolphins-Saints game. Fins have had two weeks to prepare. Hopefully, they've done some work on the secondary.

Matt Ryan actually asked for it - he's finally going to take off the cape and reveal himself as SUPERMAN!!

JPhillips 10-20-2009 04:30 PM

I guess Brett Farve is playing all of the whole NFC North in week 10.

Passacaglia 10-20-2009 04:35 PM

The big news in Chicago is that Chad Ochocinco tweeted to Jay Cutler that Peanut Tillman is going to "kiss da baby" and no one knows what that means.

Take off the cape and reveal himself?

I think it means Jay Cutler is pregnant with Ochocinco's love child.

Anyone see this story?

Worker who fell from San Diego Chargers' press box at game dies - ESPN

I don't get why the story has to include this:

Workers later cleaned up a puddle of blood.

Pretty sure we could have figured it out on our own k thx.

RIP to this guy.

jbergey22 10-20-2009 06:07 PM

Tough couple of games for the Vikings coming up. At Pitt and at GB. Im hoping for the best but I can see two losses here before the bye week. Pitt will be a tough matchup and the Green Bay means so much for Green Bay that I cant see them not bringing their best game of the year.

Sun Tzu 10-20-2009 06:51 PM

Big game for the 49ers this week. Traveling to Houston against an up and down Texans team. Gore will be back and healthy (a HUGE boost) and it's looking like Michael Crabtree will get his first start just 2 weeks after signing.

Radii 10-20-2009 11:51 PM

I'm really looking forward to seeing Crabtree.

Kodos 10-21-2009 09:28 AM

I hope he tears every ligament in his body. :)

molson 10-21-2009 09:30 AM

The Pats are down to 3 WR, as Julian Edelman has a broken arm.

He's looked good - I believe he led rookies in pass receptions.

Sam Aiken is the #3.

Maybe not this week, but with the Bucs and then the bye hopefully Tate can get up to speed by the Dolphins game. Aiken has not really impressed much as a receiver.

Looks like Jeff Fischer has defected to the Colts ;)

Ronnie Dobbs2 10-22-2009 03:18 PM

If I were a Titans fan, after that last game, I would have lost all respect for him after that.

he can't go out there and play all 11 positions on defense - it's not 100% his fault (although as coach he certainly should bear some of the blame)

If Tomlin showed up to some event wearing a Ray Lewis jersey, I'd be like WTF too, but I wouldn't really care much, would just think it's odd.

molson 10-22-2009 03:27 PM

I don't think it's the jersey so much, but the comment that "I just wanted to feel like a winner". I can see that being very annoying to the Titans and fans.

Ronnie Dobbs2 10-22-2009 03:31 PM

What molson said. The day after possibly the worst loss in franchise history, it comes off as rubbing the fans face in it.

aaah. i didn't watch the video - didn't know he said that. even if it was a joke, that's defiantely in poor taste

I imagine that he meant it as a joke, but I agree it was in poor taste. I still think people take things too seriously sometimes, but I can see how what he did could be somewhat offensive.

Lathum 10-22-2009 04:02 PM

If people get that pissed off about a joke at a charity event then they take their sports way to seriously.

Passacaglia 10-22-2009 04:28 PM

The people who should be pissed off are the Titans *players*. And it should motivate them into actually doing stuff.

MikeVic 10-22-2009 04:32 PM

Forgot about his comment too. I know I read about this yesterday, and didn't really like it, but it was the comment+jersey combo, not just the jersey.

They look like they don't give a damn though. I have never in my life seen professional athletes look like they care less about what they are doing, than I did in that game last Sunday.

Pumpy Tudors 10-22-2009 04:35 PM

Fisher should've rolled up in there going "Peyton Manning is my boy! Why y'all gotta be trippin'?"

I still like Chris Johnson, I feel bad for him.

Sun Tzu 10-22-2009 04:50 PM

If the Titans weren't 0-6 nobody would give two shits about this.

I'd be pissed if my coach said he wanted to feel like a winner.

Jeff Fisher has really gone off the deep end. Earlier this year he extolled how great a guy McNair was and now this.

Travis 10-22-2009 05:33 PM

It was meant to be a joke, but it's obviously a poor and desperate one at best. I'm just failing to see how this positively motivates anybody in the situation, but could definitely see how this could cost him some of the guys in the locker room. I mean, they're already having a hard enough time, but seeing your coach do that, well, wouldn't necessarily surprise me to see more guys quitting on him or tuning him out now and just looking to up their stats/contract standing.

That said, I'd have found it a lot funnier had he not even addressed the jersey, just stand there wearing it, give your speech and leave. The looks on the faces of everybody else there would have been funny to see. Giving them the punchline that early just let them all off the hook entirely too early.

NewIdentity 10-25-2009 12:03 PM

I am very surprised FOX did not send their #1 team of Buck and Aikman to Pittsburgh. I wonder where they are at?

DaddyTorgo 10-25-2009 12:10 PM

discussion - who's going to win offensive rookie of the year this year? trying to think of who could

DaddyTorgo 10-25-2009 12:10 PM

brandon meriweather!! td pats!! INT return

yep - Brandon Meriweather is a legit PLAYER. he reads QB's so well and his timing is always great for a big hit or a chance at an INT

Knoshown Moreno and Austin Collie are probably the two best options now. If Stafford comes back and finishes strong he is in the conversation. I guess Sanchez possibly too but he's behind the 8 ball.

Not a lot of good rookie performances so far.

DeToxRox 10-25-2009 12:13 PM

Dola, I forgot Harvin too.

I'm guessing the Falcons game. Falcons are one of the top NFC teams this season, yet everyone is still picking the Cowboys to win. Fox was hyping that game up big all week.

DaddyTorgo 10-25-2009 12:13 PM

moreno and harvin were the only 2 we could think of

Plus Buck is doing baseball tonight and not football.

Agreed. At least with the Red Zone Channel's variety, I'm not being bored by any one game for too long.
