Is Parody Dead?
This guy seems to think so. I'm not so sure.
While we're obviously seeing a lot of great and terrible threads this year, it seems like only last year we were talking about how so many threads had a chance to make Mt. Rushmore. It seems to me that it's not a case of parody being "dead", but parody, true Subby-like parody, never arriving in the first place. Instead, the point of the changes made in the wake of, say, the jbmagic boxings of the 2000s, was to make the message board considerably more coherent, but not to ensure that there would be a consistent cluster of around 8 parody threads each week. |
I heart Kodos.

But jbmagic is still here, he just goes by the parody name of brassmonkey32...

I heart parody. Or is it parity? I can never remember.

Well done good sir.

I think this is officially my last parody thread. :)

I hate parody threads, but well done.

It's always interesting to see how many people will vote for all options when given the chance to choose more than one.

I really don't understand why people hate parody threads so much.
Live and let live. It's not like it hurts anyone. If there was a parody for every thread, that would be different, but I mean, lighten up. |
They'd probably be better liked if they were more rare.
|
I hardly see any anymore. People are afraid to post them.

There was a time when there was. Sometimes multiple parodies for one thread. Now that they are a rarity I don't mind them. |
