Changing from 4-3 to 3-4

I did some searching to see if this was covered, but didn't find anything. Is there more to changing your defensive philosophy then just changing it under the "Game-plan Misc settings" menu (I think that it is the one it is under, I am in the off-season right now and can't open them)? Because I have made the change there last season but I still feel like I am missing something. Is there any other menu or area where I can make this change?

It has been a while since I last played, but I seemed to remember when I used a 3-4 team that the terminology on my roster was things like ROLB, LOLB, MLB. But my roster still has WILB, SLB, etc.

I feel like I am missing an option or setting here to make the change

A 3-4 has four linebackers so there in no "middle" linebacker there is a weak inside linebacker and a strong inside linebacker in its place. That is why you are seeing WILB and SILB. If you only want to play 3 linebackers you should use the 4-3.

I think I have Madden's system in my head then. I usually play as the Steelers on there (3-4 obviously) and I am pretty sure that they refer to the inside linebackers as MLB and there being two MLBs. Like I said I haven't played FOF in a long time but what you are saying makes complete sense. Thanks.

Right... 4-3 uses SLB/MLB/WLB, and 3-4 uses SLB/SILB/WILB/WLB. Also, obviously, defensive line goes from RDT/LDT to NT.
