When running a 3-4 defense, why is it sometime the wilb is not credited with always starting a game. My wilb has started only 4 out of the 10 game we have played and is getting livid at not starting. Can't figure out why this is happening. Advice?

If a player is not in on the first play of the game, he is not credited with a start (this is how the NFL does it, too, fwiw). So, three reasons this can happen for a WILB:

• first play of the game in nickel
• first play of the game in dime
• endurance dice roll puts someone else on the field for first play*

*--I'm not 100% sure this can happen first play of game...definitely first play of 2nd half, though.

To better answer you question, the nickel and dime formations do not sub (except for injury) so if you are running a lot of nickel and dime and your WILB is not a part of those packages, he is not going to get as many plays.

I *think* number of plays is more important than starting as far as attitude goes.
