Heater Magazine (baseball related)
I don't know if any of you are familiar with Heater Magazine (and before we go further, I am not associated with them in any way besides being a very satisfied customer!) Heater Magazine - Home , but I contacted John Burnson, in charge of it and he graciously agreed to a special promotion that I could post in the forum.
Just click the following link for a discount worth over 25% and get a full year of Heater Magazine (2 stat filled issues every week throughout the baseball season), the Wheelhouse (a "webless web" -- it features a large subset of the data of a web site like ESPN.com and MLB.com) AND the daily rundown (all expanded boxscores emailed to you) for $29 instead of the regular $39. Not only that, but when you resubscribe next year (and you will!), renewals are only $19!! There's a sample issue to download as well as a demo of the wheelhouse. Is your coupon working?

Seems to be. Just clicked it, and on the page that comes up it shows the following under User and Contact info:
"Your referral coupon code entitles you to a $10.00 discount. When you click Next Step below, you will see the discount applied to your payment. Coupon good until September 2010" |

Yeah I'm not seeing it say that when I go to the site. :( |
Probably because I'm an idiot! :)
Try this link: http://www.heatermagazine.com/become/?ref=RNOW10 I think it might be that something got messed up with my original link. sorry for any inconvenience! If this one doesn't work, just email heater directly and mention it was the "sposfan promo" and I'm sure they'll hook you up. |
Just as a sidebar, as I was emailing John Burnson back and forth last night. For those who have an Amazon Kindle, part of the Heater subscription includes something called a "Rundown" and that is, an email in pdf form, of all of yesterdays boxscores and scores etc.
This email could be sent to your kindle everyday and Amazon will convert it for .15 per MB. Apparently, this pdf from Heater is really small, so John figured the cost to be around $1 per week and $4 per month. I was thinking about subscribing to a newspaper for $12 a month just to read the morning boxscores but this sounds super reasonable to me. Maybe I'm in the minority but if somebody told me I could get the boxscores sent to my kindle every morning for a $1 a week, I'd sign up right now. $29 for Heater for the year and then $26 (charged by Amazon) for everydays boxscores emailed to your kindle for the year for the morning train ride. I think I'm going to sign up. |
I'm with Ramzavail. I signed up a couple weeks ago, and I plan to just view the PDFs on my iPhone (for free!).
|
I just signed up. I'm looking forward to this.
|
Just going to bump this. I've really been enjoying this.
|
If you have a iPhone of iPad they open PDFs free of charge, so you can view The Rundown on them for free. Who needs a kindle!
|
Not only that, but I download the actual Heater issue and email it to myself as an attachment, so I have it on the iphone as well. It's not the EASIEST thing to read, but it IS still baseball!!! :)

I've been very impressed with this service so far - well worth the money.
|
what happened to them?
|
Publisher decided not to publish this season :( unfortunate...
|
I wonder if re-subscribers are going to get the promised $19 on the next year it's published....
