Rarely does a man live up to a t-shirt proclamation such as "I AM A MOTHERFUCKER." This man has succeeded in proving himself worthy of the title.

I thought he was an ar*e myself, he knew he could take the other chap and needled him until he felt he had an excuse to take him down.

It'd be like me (6'5'' and fairly stocky) needling a 14 year old kid and then beating the crap out of him if he went for me .... that being said looked like a playground scuffle to me, nothing serious involved - just a lucky blow to the nose making things look worse than they were.

The saddest thing to me though is that someone felt they had to video this and then post it to youtube, why? - did it help anyone, do people really watch this stuff for 'fun'?

Unfortuntaley there are a multitude of people that watch others bludgeoning each other for fun...

This right here, is why when you are an adult you don't talk shit, because someone will put you in your place. Just be the better person and ignore them.

Apparently the white guy has a history of beating people up and choking them out.

All three people, black guy, white guy, and the lady videotaping it all and cheering on a fight (at least from what I hear) are human garbage.

Sometimes you get the bull, sometimes you get the horns.

The person who comes out the worst in that is the lady videotaping the thing who:

- eggs the attacker on
- steals the big guy's bag after he gets off the bus
- tells the attacker that he can sue the big guy after the attacker got his face blooded
- shows her face in the video so anyone would know who took the bag
- uploads the video on youtube

That's just stupid.

He did move I'll give him that - but if I remember right after he did he didn't stop making comments which was what caused the other chap to follow (to be honest I've only watched it once and have no desire to do so again).

Seriously now, the black dude deserved what he got. He wouldn't leave the guy alone after he moved away from him on the damned bus, he hit the old guy in the head first.

You want to call someone an ass then aim it at the younger guy, who got his ass handed to him due to sheer stupidity and arrogance. He thought he was a tough guy against an old man. Some tough guy, hope the nose stops bleeding.

Black dude wanted a fight. I don't know what context this "shoe shine" comments were in. I've heard from some "sources" that the black guy actually did shine shoes, but his reaction was so negative that I find that tenuous at best.

It was a funny video, though. There are fights every day. Someone gets their ass kicked. Like the dad in Friday says "You live to fight another day". No big shakes.

*edit* I also don't think it's a coincidence that they both took place in Oakland. If you've ever been to Oakland, you know that this kind of crap is 100% normal. If an old white man is taking public transportation...IN OAKLAND...and he has a shirt on that says "I AM a motherfucker"...IN OAKLAND...then you should know already that he could probably bust you wide open with one punch.

Was the girl with the camera the one that was instigating the drunk guy on? I thought he was with a girl (it seemed like the girl that was egging him on knew his name, but I've only watched it once, so not positive) that was talking to him and the girl video taping it was just sitting off to the side.

I'm not going to spend any time arguing the merits of each side because everyone involved should have behaved themselves. But once the drunk went after the old guy, that was pure comedy gold. Helluva right jab.

To me, it's painfully obvious that the old guy had no interest in ending the whole thing. Moving to the front of the bus was just an act to look like he was taking the high road. I'm not saying it's all his fault, because it's obviously not. Both of the guys are equally responsible. That's just my opinion, of course, but I've been seen enough similar situations (almost none of them coming to actual punches, but it's still the same) to make an educated guess. Both of the guys wanted to fight, one fought better than the other, and that was it. At least nobody pulled out a weapon. If these guys want to be morons and fight each other in public, hell yes, get it on video and entertain those of us who want to point and laugh. I don't really feel the need to watch it more than once, but the one time I saw it was entertaining, at least to me.

It wasn't about him moving. Moving was an act. While he was moving, he kept talking. After he moved, he kept talking. That's not putting an end to the situation. That's fanning flames and giving the young guy an excuse to come over and get punched out. Then the old guy could pretend like it was self-defense. If the old guy didn't want the incident to escalate, he had the option of keeping his mouth shut. If he had done that, there'd no longer be an incident. Would keeping quiet have made him look weak or defeated? I don't know. Maybe. But there wouldn't have been a fight. He wanted a fight, he got one, he won, and now (thanks to his shirt being on video) the whole internet knows he's a motherfucker. I sure don't feel bad for him or the other guy. They got what they wanted.

That brings the list down to only three people who have never enjoyed anything I've posted here. Indeed, kudos to me. Indeed.

Ok so here are my two cents on what went down.

While I'm not going to disagree at all that what happened shouldn't have happened, I think there's more to it here. I don't think there were any things that the older guy could have done that would have resulted in a "win" for him. Remember this didn't happen in Minneapolis or upscale suburbia. If you're a minority in what was very recently the murder capital of the world, and some guys are busting you up in public, if you just walk away they'll do the same thing every time they see you. At the same time if you stand up for yourself you run the risk of retaliation later on. I think he did the same thing that most people would have done which is try to distance himself. In fact he obliged to the drunk guys demands to "move his white ass to the front of the bus" as soon as he was told to do so. He kept responding to the jabbering threats of the drunk guy but took zero action. When he was approached...note when HE was approached, he did what I think was acting out of self preservation. He blocked the drunk guys punch and then fought back. Things are a bit different in Oaktown then they are most other places, and if someone calls you out, sometimes the best course of action is to stand up for yourself.

Again, I'm not saying at all that anything that happened should have happened, but considering how the majority of the bus was shouting for "pinky" to "get his white ass kicked" I think it could have ended up a lot worse, for either side. After everything was said and done, the old guy got off the bus, while the drunk guy claimed "if I ever see him again I'll kill him". I would look at it no differently if the races were reversed and this took place in Alabama, rather than Oakland.

All I heard through the whole thing was racial epithets yelled at the old guy by what seemed like several people around. I guess that is ok in this case. Shoes were reversed, I would hate to see what would be said.
