While they may be unilateral (not with the military), the CNN crew does have armed security and they did return fire. Interesting.

Sadler has guts doing what he's doing, far away from any Coalition forces, traveling into military base (including a Republican Guard base) and right into Tikrit. Of course, in Tikrit, they learned the risks of the move.
