FOFC Sprint Cup Series Season 18
![]() Daytona, FL - The FOFC's best have once again have migrated south to Daytona for the beginning of the FOFC Sprint Cup Series. Season 17 was one of the most exciting the series has ever seen. After a long hiatus between seasons the series had a large influx of rookie drivers, and the amount of wrecks and DNF's made it seem as if everyone was a rookie. Three drivers put on one of the best title chases that the series has seen. Future FOFC Sprint Cup Hall of Famers Chris Snow and Nick Phillips battled it as rookie Robbie DeWeerd made it clear he was a force to be reckoned with. In the end it was a tie for the title with DeWeerd taking the tiebreaker over Snow and Phillips only two points back. Now I'm sure we won't ever have a tie again but all three of those drivers should be near the top of the standings at the end of the season. Teammates Chad Errington and Duke McWerter surprised a lot of people by finishing 5th and 6th in the points last season. They both improved as the season went on and were two of the top cars as the season ended. Watch for them to be near the front again. Dan Schoonover finished 8th, and will enter the new season with a brand new car and number, look for him to be a contender as well. Three rookies will vie for the Rookie of the Year title. Aaron Kappe will be driving the #03 Finding Nemo car. Trosclair Breaux is in the #17 Netflix car and Avery Thomas will drive the #13 Dr. Pepper car. FOFC Sprint Cup Series Past Champions PHP Code:

![]() Daytona 500 Preview This year's Daytona 500 will be a bit different than we have done in the past. We will first have qualifying, after qualifying only the top 2 drivers will be locked into their positions. We will then run two Gatorade Duels, 60 lap races to determine the starting order for the 500. The top two qualifiers will participate but their finishes will not matter in the qualifiying order. Anyone who qualifies in an odd numbered spot will be in the first fuel, an even number will be in the second duel. The finishing order in the two duels will determine our starting order for the 500. |
Did my other driver not make it into the race?

Aaron Kappe? He's in. |
Ah, nevermind, you're right

Let's see if FC Racing can repeat at Daytona.
|
35:1 odds? Considering my showing last season, that's not too bad :)

Guess the oddsmakes like that Silvers started up front all the time. |

Ok so how are you forcing NR2003 to accept your lineup for the 500? is this another add on that actually runs qualifying this way for that specific race?

![]() Daytona 500 Daytona, FL - To everyone's surprise this was one of the cleanest 500's of all-time. Only one caution throughout the entire race, and it wasn't even for a wreck. 33 drivers swapped the lead 100 times throughout the 200 laps. Rookie Aaron Kappe looked strong throughout but fell back near the end. William Paige, who looked strong in the Duels, was the strongest in today's race as well. Paige led the most laps with 27 and took the lead once again with a few laps remaining. A few drivers made runs at him, Travis Elkin, Chad Errington, Steve Bollea and C.R. Anderson but none were able to overtake him as Paige took the win. Anderson finished 2nd, Bollea was 3rd, Trosclair Breaux 4th and Sterling Silvers rounds out the top 5. Here is a video of the action from the 500, including the final laps. PHP Code:

Woooop Woooop! Paige gets the checkered flag @ Daytona!

Nice to see Aaron leading for part of the race
|
It was nice for me to see my driver C.R. run well. He struggled quite a bit last season.
|
Well looking at those times, it appears it could have been anyone's race. Only 2.15 seconds separated 1st to 41st...
|
Bad showing to start, not great. That's alright, we'll catch up.
|
I'll take a 7th and 10th, double top tens, any day, although a top 5 would have been nice.
What's the point breakdown like? 1 per lap led, right? What are the point breakdowns for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc? |
Couldn't ask for a better debut for Breaux

An excellent showing for the newly retooled #34 car. Let's see how it holds up :)

New sponsor and paint scheme for Wallace Bryant starting at Texas.

Phillips Racing is excited to start the new season. Nick Phillips looks like he should be a strong contender once again. New sponsors this season as Mello Yello has only signed on for half of the races Jordan Brand and Nike will be on the car.
Mustafa Henderson is looking to win his first championship. Henderson has finished in the top 5 many times in his career and has accumulated 15 victories, but has never won a championship. Phillips Racing doesn't really look at much from Daytona this is just a race that usually whoever wins doesn't come close to winning again and isn't a factor. We will be looking at Texas where Phillips won last year and hopefully he can repeat as it is one of his favorite tracks. Snow - Enjoy your last season as the driver with the most titles. Phillips will get number 5 this season. |
Family racing team, Thomas racing was happy with the way the rookie Avery Thomas performed, as long as he hangs in there for this season we can solidify more sponsors.
|
the LAST TWO spots. whatg a great start to the season!
|
Yay mediocrity!
|
Happy with our the Foley's qualified, but not a good showing in the race. Hopefully this isn't a repeat of last year...
|
Texas results, pictures and race highlights will be up this evening.
|
Meh. At least we did not end up with a DNF.
|
Let's go Powered By Dan Racing!
|
Texas is currently running. Results should be up in a little over an hour.

Seriously, my 1 year old son Cash is about to find himself out on the street. Last qualifier, man, somebody doesn't want allowance when they get older.

For most of the day it looked like Season 17 all over again as Nick Phillips, Robbie DeWeerd, and Chris Snow swapped the lead back and forth, leading 242 laps combined out of 334. Nick Phillips, who won
last year's running of the Samsung Mobile 500, was the most dominant as he moved up from his 18th starting spot and led the most laps with 144. He held off a very strong challenge from Robbie DeWeerd to take the win. C.R. Anderson followed up his 2nd place finish at Daytona with a 3rd, Snow finished 4th and Travis Elkin had a very strong day running with the leaders and finished 5th. Bo Duke had a great day with an 8th place finish. It was a relatively clean race with only two cautions, one brought out by Sterling Silvers' stalled car after a broken gearbox, and one accident involving 11 cars. PHP Code:

Nice victory for Nick Phillips. Two seasons in a row at Texas and it looked like a good race. After two races its nice to be 2nd in points.
Mustafa Henderson has plenty of time to turn around the season if he doesn't he may be out of a ride. |
Dang gearbox :(

Dammit, we are having some bad luck this season.
|
Funny there is talk that Dale Jr. is going to race the #3 Wrangler at Daytona...
