I like dogs -- other peoples' dogs. For an animal that's going to be around me 24 hours per day, give me a cat anytime. Cats are great companionship for a little while each day, but then for 18-20 hours they're sleeping and stay the eff out of your hair. I love 'em. The lazy man's pet.

It is right. We have 2 dogs and I hate them. I almost kill myself trying to walk around the house because they're laying behind me and then I turn around and almost take a header into a granite counter top. And the fucking barking at everything that moves within a 4 mile radius of the house - I could rip their fucking vocal chords out. And we've got to get a damn dogsitter just to spend half a day out of town. It's ridiculous.

Cats are self-sufficient and don't give a shit about you, me, or anything. That pretty much makes them a perfect housemate for me. Leave me the fuck alone and acknowledge me maybe twice a day and we're cool.

As much as men love to bitch about women and vice versa, I don't get why cats are associated with women and dogs with men. Seems to me it should be the other way around. Or at least, you lose the right to bitch about women if you think a dog is a good pet.

A dogsitter? Sounds like you have a bunch of dumb ass dogs. I personally could careless for dogs or cats.

A cat uses you for food and shelter. It barely acknowledges your presence and is only nice to you so it can continue receiving food and shelter. You clean their shit, take care of them when they're sick and you've learn to love their behavior. That sounds awfully like a woman too me.

I can't comment on a dog.

Oz (my cat) is my first cat. And he is one of the whiniest little terrors out there. As I type (staying home today), he's trying to crawl onto my computer keyboard and in the morning will nudge up against me and then anything else to get me up, and if that doesn't work, starts knocking things off my nightstand...

My old black lab was much more self-sufficient. ;)

Has nothing to do with being dumb - I don't know of any dogs who can unlock doors and let themselves out. I'm not installing a dog door for security and weather reasons, either.

That suggests I'm not in on it. I know exactly what their doing, and that's what I like about them. They live their lives, I live mine, and we occasionally hang out together. But otherwise, they just do their thing and I do mine.

I've got a wife and two daughters (not to mention 2 dogs), I don't need any more commitments on my time.

And who bumped it? Who frickin bumped it? That's right, the dog guy.

I thought this was to be bumped on Saturday. But nooOOOOOoooo, the timestamp shows up by someone who appears to be on the EAST Coast, at 1:36 AM SUNDAY his local time. The rest of you? Pshht.

I swear to god, if Noop hasn't moved to California anytime recently I'm going to cut someone.
