What impact does income have on MP

Ive been arguing with someone in a league about the importance of income in a MP environment. Can someone set us straight?

How big of an impact does it have on owner cash allotment for coaches?

Does it effect owner allotment for bonuses offered to FA's?

Does it effect anything else at all?

I have never had an owner limit my bonus use unless it was over the cap so I assumed it had no negligible effect... but as the argument heated up I figured I should probably find out for sure to keep myself from looking like an idiot!

Income absolutely has a big effect on how much you can spend on coaches and scouts. What level of impact coaching has on performance is difficult to say, but I've grown to suspect that it's something more important than most realize.

It also effects max bonus amount and max salary amount as well.

Too late!!! Thanks for the fast reply Ben. In all my years of playing Ive never reached an owner limit on bonus or salary. Weird. I guess I should spend some time thinking about how to increase income. It's all about the luxury boxes correct?

In one league I am in a owner couldn't pay his QBs requested price even if he just hit recommend because the bonus was more than his Owner would allow him to pay.

I believe he is referring to me. Here is a thread here about that.

I had to wait for the player to lower his salary request after a few stages, then was able to offer a little less on the bonus, but had to make up for it with a high salary in years 1 and 2 of the contract. I think his cap number this season is 35 mil, and is over 40 mil next year I believe.

Lets hope that keeps going up to the point that you can only afford to have him and the water boy on the team :D

I've noticed one team in my SP league, that never has exceptional talent or anything, has been in the AFC Championship for 4 straight games, won 2 of them, and just beat me in OT in the Super Bowl this last season. Their coach is Excellent in all ratings, which explains why their medium team keeps winning close games over better teams in the playoffs every year, perhaps? Just one example I've seen of the AI, at least, benefiting a lot from having an excellent coach.
