Foir those who don't go into the dynasty section, I am letting my inner sports geek show.

I am doing an NFL era World Cup type competition.

Still in the qualifying stage and it will probably take a few weeks to get through the entire thing.

But if you are interested...

Super Bowl Era World Cup - Front Office Football Central

I have already run the qualifying for the NFC East to get the representative teams and will be finishing up the AFC East later tonight with the Bills.

Finished up the Vikings tongiht, hop to get the Packers and Lions in tonight to finish up group B. That will make have Groups A, B and E set and I will probably move to Group F next (tomorrow evening) and we'll see which of the Steelers many Super Bowl teams (and the one non-Super Bowl team) stacks up.

The Packers have been completed. I'll do the Lions after a while. Then on to Group F.

The Steelers should be interesting, 7 of their 8 teams in qualifying lpayed in the Super Bowl (with the one team that didn't actually having the better regular season record at 15-1).

Finished the Steelers. Shocking results... maybe... :)

Are you using the Oilers as the Titans, or as the Texans?

The Browns' qualifying has been run, nothing too exciting there. The Bengals and Ravens will be up next.

Ravens are completed. Will move on to Group C qualifying later (the qualifying seeds for this group are posted in that thread). May try a team or two tonight but going to play some FM 10 for a while (went with the Steam 14.99 special).

Saints qualifying is complete.

The Buccaneers qualifying has been run.

Falcons' qualifying is complete. Will run the Panthers in a few.

The Panthers' qualifying has been run.

Group G qualifying is up next...

Colts qualifying completed (some really good games in there too).

Jaguars qualifying is completed.

The Titans/Oilers qualifying has been run.

The Texans qualifying has been run.

Up next will be Group D, the NFC West.

The only remaining group after that will be Group H, the AFC West.


Then it will be on to "The Finals".

Will start Group D tomorrow, was going to do it tonight but if the 49ers qualifying goes as I expect it may be a lengthy write-up.

The 49ers hae been run. Some really good games in there.

Seahawks have been run, probably the worst group of games so far, not one close game.

The Rams have been run.

The Cardinals have been run.

That leave one more group qualifying stage, Group H, also known as the AFC West.

The Chargers have been run.

I'll see if I can finish the qualifying tomorrow night and then begin The Finals over the weekend.

The Raiders have been run. Two teams left and the qualifying will be over and on to the next.

Broncos are completed, on team remaining. Will run that after Fact or Faked is over.

This dynasty has taught me that, despite cheering wholeheartedly for the Panthers and watching every game they've played for years now... I actually have no emotional attachment to any of the teams, even the Super Bowl runner up.

Regardless, great idea and still following closely!

The Chiefs have been run. The groups are set. I will start putting together a group preview and get the schedule together.

Have the preview summary up for the first two groups, will finish this out tomorrow.

Adding odds in there for advancement to the next stage. Feel free to let me know how far off I am on those odds (thay are not the odds of winning it all but just for advancing to the knockout round).

I did another group preview earlier. Insane headache at the moment though so that will determine how much more I do tonight. Logging out for a while.

There was also a nice breakdown done by Vince that he posted. Feel free to chime in with your own thoughts on the groups. :)
