Random Thoughts thread, IMO.

I don't like the random thoughts thread. It's too limiting, and I never read it. I'm assuming that a lot of other people skip it too.

Um they have those for Chrome too...

Then screw add-ons in general - I'm going lightweight, baby.

It's too limiting? OK, I give you permission to post semi-organized thoughts there, too.

My problem with it is that sure, some of the thought in it might spur some fun discussion or whatever, but once it gets buried it's essentially gone. It's hard to go back and find a cool topic sometime down the line. Plus, like I said, a lot of people ignore it because they assume it's just a thread full of silly crap with no substance. While that may be true most of the time, I'm sure there are also good discussions from time to time, and it's a shame that they'll be totally overlooked and then gone.

So yeah, it's limiting in a lot of ways.

I think the point of that thread is that the thoughts posted in there don't deserve a separate thread becacuse they aren't intended to spur a lot of comments/discussion. So by definition, they aren't all that worthy of being topics on their own.

If the topic is THAT interesting and has spurred that much interest/discussion, then it probably shouldn't have been posted in there to begin with.

This topic seems perfect for that thread. No questions, no deep thoughts, just a simple outburst.

I enter threads with titles that tell me I will be interested in whats in there. I'm not checking a random thread every time to see if maybe perhaps there is something that will interest me.

I understand your points, but it's a random thoughts thread, not a thread for discussions. You don't need to read it. "Fuck internet ads with sound" is a random thought requiring no discussion or comments.

Get the bug out of your ass is also a random thought but I don't want to post it in that other thread... :eek: :D :devil:

I have sound always disabled on all my computers. Up yours ads with sounds :). Plus I have noscript and adblockplus firefox addons.
