Gmail not importing e-mail from Yahoo account
I recently got a Gmail account, and had it import from my Yahoo account. Under Import Mail and Contacts in the settings it says "Initial import done. New messages will be forwarded as they arrive." But it's not forwarding messages. Anyone know of a setting or something that I'm missing?

just a guess, but maybe a setting on the yahoo side of things? |
It looks like you are probably right. I changed a setting on Yahoo. We'll see if it works. :)

It's because you're trying to cross the streams. DON'T CROSS THE STREAMS. |
Actually, it looks like I have to upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus to allow it to forward mail.
Eh. No biggie. I can do without. |
doesn't Yahoo mail allow POP access anymore? You could access the Yahoo account it from Gmail via POP3 if it does.

Server denied POP3 access for the given username and password. POP access is limited to Yahoo! Mail Plus subscribers. Please contact Yahoo! Mail's support team for more information. |
That's lame.

wow, that is really lame. Guess there was a reason why I switched from Yahoo to Gmail at one point... :) FM |
What the hell is Yahoo?

I'm also starting the process of moving all my Yahoo email over to GMail. With my Android phone, I already have contacts & calendar in Google. Might as well finish the transition.
So I have a question to any current GMail users: I have emails in my "Sent Mail" label, but there is really no such label with that name. They also are actually labeled with "old sent emails" (to designate the ones from Yahoo versus my newer GMail sent items). If I click on the "Sent Mail" label and then the "Old Sent Emails" label, I see them in both locations. Is there anyway I can remove the records from the "Sent Mail" folder (I know that is not the actual terminology...), but have them remain with "Old Sent Emails" folder? I actually deleted one of the records. Then went to the Trash label, clicked on restore, and told it to only point to "Old Sent EMails" label. But it appeared in both. Almost as if "Sent Mail" is an internal/hidden label. Archive appears to only work with the Inbox. So I'm hoping one of you can help me out. Thanks! |
Yahoo has required people to pay for POP3 access for like 5 years now :(
