Ping: browser gurus

Couple days ago, my computer froze and required a hard reboot.

Since that day, Firefox absolutely refuses to save any login info for more than...well, even a few hours seems to be enough to flush it. Certainly a power-up/power-down cycle clears that.

Which, as you might imagine, has rendered any 'remember me' buttons a test for insanity - they sit there taunting me to see if I'm foolish enough to click them again, expecting something different to happen.

Any ideas from the peanut gallery what might cause this? I think I've had to physically log in at FOFC more in the last three days than in the last two years combined.

No idea, but a thing to try could be to clear out all the cookies, temporary files and browser cache.

Have you tried another browser, like Safari, Opera, IE, etc....?

IE's the only other browser I have installed, and I hardly ever use it. It's, like...IE 6. I suppose I could upgrade that and give it a try.

Reason I ask is just wondering if it is Firefox specifically or something else on your computer.

You could also try removing FF and reinstalling, and/or doing the same with any plugins/addons you have for it.

Seems like it was just Firefox.

A full (pain in the ass) browser reinstall took care of things.

That is good news.

your profile file might be corrupted as I remember something similar happening to me and I had to create another profile and bingo it worked.

You can create a new profile by running "-profilemanager" at the end of your firefox shortcut.

oh, I see you have already fixed it. Nevermind then... :)
