No way Lucky Charms ever loses. It is the Ditka of breakfast cereal.

Must be the Ditka of the Saints, then, because without your marshmallows, Lucky Charms is just sugar coated cat food. It's like Alpha Bits, only all you can spell is XQD.

Cheerios is pretty well unstoppable here. It's got mom cred, it's got doc cred, it's got kid cred, it's even got toddler cred. Plus, endlessly variable. Going up against Apple Jacks? Apple Cinnamon flavor. Froot Loops? Fruity Cheerios. They've even got Chocolate Cheerios in as a rookie this year to handle that damn cuckoo bird. Frosted, banana nut, honey nut, yogurt...Cheerios gives you more looks than Jennifer Garner in Alias.

Aaaand it's a balanced part of a nutritious breakfast. Cheerios will build you a new heart from scratch if yours craps out. It's the Jordan of breakfast. Just don't drink orange juice with a bowl. That shit's nasty after three teaspoons of sugar in your bowl. ( I mean two teaspoons, Mom. )

I don't like cereal.It always leaves this nasty aftertaste and bad milky-cerealy bad breath. Add in the fact that it's usually eaten in the morning when your mouth stinks and is fuzzy, and you get a pretty gross product. I agree with Kristin - Oatmeal (and cream of wheat) is the cereal for me.

Captain Crunchberries is the best cereal ever. period.

Boo Berry and Franken Berry are the best. Unfortunately I can never find them anywhwhere, so usually default to Corn Pops or Honey Smacks.

The "Berry" family of cereals is heads and shoulders above the rest, even if Quik hasn't heard of them.


As for cereals I can't stand that other people love. I have Trix and Froot Loops. Both have this terrible cloying flavor that I just can't tolerate.

Pretty sure Quik was just poking fun at 'FTW'. People seem to fall into the sarchasm often around these parts.

I'm actually pretty sure Quik's commentary was on the fact that there is no such cereal as "Captain" Crunch.

Seriously - I generally have at least one sugary cereal and one healthy cereal around. It depends on my mood what I eat. In all honesty, if you look at say Special K and Lucky Charms - there's not much of a difference in nutrition. Only if you get up to say Kashi and things like that do you notice much of a difference.

Not really. I guess I'm in the minority but I always thought of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms and even Frosted Flakes, which I eat occasionally, as "kids cereals." I've got no problem with adults buying them, I just thought most adults bought them for their kids.

Sweet cereals are just as good for you as the "healthy" ones basically. And they taste way better.

Yeah, like I said, I'm pretty much with MJ4H here. I eat Lucky Charms (#1), fruit loops, frosted mini wheats, frosted flakes, sugar smacks, etc on a regular basis.

I've always hated cereal. I don't think I've eaten more than 3-4 bowls in the last 25 years. Something about milk softening the food up. I also hate the sound of a spoon scratching the side of a glass bowl.

I like making Grape Nuts "energy bars" with honey and peanut butter. I used to make huge batches and keep them around in the freezer for when searches happened or for when I was doing long runs while marathon training. Haven't made them in ages...hmm..

I haven't eaten sugary cereal since I was about 12. Oatmeal, cream of wheat, Life, honey bunches of oats, banana nut crunch, etc., are the only ones I'll eat. My wife buys shit like Sugar Smacks and Honeycomb for herself.
