Population Bug
Is there any sort of known population bug?
In setting up a new game, I have the Level Economic Playing Field set to "No" (although even if I set it to "Yes" the same problem occurs). When I click on City Information -> Population, every single city is listed at "1,120,000". This occurs no matter how many times I start a new game. |
Not much to add in terms of advice, but that sounds like a typical 'level playing field' effect.

The game has a flaw in the economic model. Another thing you will see is a lot of cities, even in the year 2080, with an avg income of $20,000 / yr.
|
The only workaround I found was to uninstall and reinstall the game.
|
If that was the case, then you edited the base city data files. Uninstalling and reinstalling reset the file. If you use the game's level playing field, then this data is only changed in the actual saved game.
|
The only things I had edited were the City Affiliations (Jets to New York) and the City Names (New Jersey to New York). These were both done in the Global Options. I didn't mess around with any of the data files.

This population bug happened to me, too. Some questions:
Is there a specific file I can replace to fix it? If not, does the reinstall: 1. Cause any damage to existing leagues? 2. Fix existing leagues? Thanks! |
