Amazon Cloud
So Amazon got to it before everyone else. 5GB free, and 20GB for $20 a year (free if you buy an album...Britney Spears' new album came out today! (j/k)).
If you have Android, it looks to be an excellent deal. It also looks as if you can upload videos as well in the future. What does everyone think of this? Amazon Cloud Drive: Learn More |
Will be interesting. They got there first by telling RIAA to go fuck themselves while Google and Apple were playing nice. Hopefully this works for Amazon.

They charge a dollar a gig. That's expensive. I can get a 1 terrabyte external drive for around 100 dollars on Amazon, they charge 1000 for 1 terrabyte for their cloud service.
I couldn't find anything on there regarding who retains ownership of any files uploaded to their cloud. Do they have any ownership claims? I'm just not sold with this 'cloud computing' stuff at all. It would make more sense if everyone owned dumb terminals, but, since we don't, I find it useless outside of the business world. |
I'd be way more interested if I could get more than .75megabits/second upload.

Free streaming of movies for Prime recently started. Anyone used it? I have free Student Prime, which doesn't include this.

Dropbox was ahead of all of them. Amazon has come in with a lower price, but Dropbox has a pretty loyal following and quite a bit of momentum.

I've been using Dropbox for awhile now. Is there any reason to switch to Amazon or Skydrive?

Can you share files/folders with others easily like you can with Dropbox?
